I was and still am completely stunned that Michael Johns was the one to be let go. I was hoping Jason Castro would have been axed, he's the one who deserved to get the axe, NOT Michael. I am one PO'd Michael fan, I am so done watching Idol. I'll start watching again next year.

What the heck was that?! My LORD...how the heck could Michael have gotten voted off??? I am so upset. Just when I thought this show couldn't get any worse. This is the most ridiculous elimination I've ever seen. So undeserved. He was one of the best voices, and he gets voted off. I'm really upset about his elimination as he was my favorite this season, but the entire bottom three pissed me off as well. Carly and Syesha? No. They have really strong voices. They did not deserve to be in the bottom three. I'm not mentioning any names because I don't want to offend other fans, but there are some that were safe that should have left a long time ago. Absolutley ridiculous.

Oh, and Ryan deserved to be slapped for the crap he pulled. What was that? That was so insensitive and rude.

MOST UNJUST ELIMINATION THIS SEASON...so far. I wouldn't be surprised if we had any more highway robberies after this, though hella people already did get robbed. But man ... this is brutal. 8th place is for people who've overstayed their welcome like Haley Scarnato. o_0 And the guy who went out tonight is SO much better than that.

I couldn't believe Michael was the one gone tonight. I had predicted the bottom 3 to be right, but I had the feeling that either Carly or Syesha would be the one leaving ... Gosh, I felt sick to my stomach before the results and just got hit by a wave of a shock when they announced it. I know that's corny, but yeah, that's just how I react to this show. :o

I'm sorry to see him go too, but even though I was a bit shocked last night, thinking back - I probably shouldn't have been so surprised. I've watched American Idol every year and this pretty much happens every year. I would even say that the AI machine loves it, too. You see -- they always have some "front runner" early on who's a pick to take it all...and then there's the collective outrage (and related attention) when he/she departs too early. Case(s) in point: Tamyra, Constantine, John Peter Lewis, Latoya, Chris Daughtry, LaKisha...the list goes on.

I know he's just being a host, but the way Ryan said 'We usually don't eliminate anyone' then went on to eliminate Michael, was cruel. I was so surprised, I didn't think it was Michael's time to go. I thought he was one of the front runners. Jason, and Brooke should have gone before him.
And am I the only one who doesn't think Jason can sing all that great? I downloaded his version of 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow' and there's no power in his voice. He only seems to sing soft ballads, and then he doesn't hit the notes. His looks are keeping him in, if he wasn't attractive, he'd have been gone already.

And am I the only one who doesn't think Jason can sing all that great? I downloaded his version of 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow' and there's no power in his voice. He only seems to sing soft ballads, and then he doesn't hit the notes. His looks are keeping him in, if he wasn't attractive, he'd have been gone already.
I absolutely agree with you. He is not technically a great singer. In fact, he's just okay. He's my 2nd favorite, but only because I think he's hot. :grady: And in a season where there's only ONE person who I adore (I wonder who that is...), that counts for alot I guess. Everyone else is either boring or just lacks something that could make me genuinely care whether or not they're safe each week.

I know he's just being a host, but the way Ryan said 'We usually don't eliminate anyone' then went on to eliminate Michael, was cruel. I was so surprised, I didn't think it was Michael's time to go. I thought he was one of the front runners. Jason, and Brooke should have gone before him.

I completely agree - the guy can't sing at all to me! He's constantly out of tune, and can only sing soft ballads or songs with no voice range. I would love to see one of the weeks be "Rock" week. I wonder what Jason would do then-LOL

I think Syesha's great, but the problem is that she doesn't stand-out much, IMO. There's nothing really unique or (as Paula says) "distinctive" about her.

Speaking of Jason, he does seem more like a street busker than a serious performer at times, because he's so laid back. I think his best performance was 'Hallelujah', he hasn't topped that, in my opinion.

Definitely. I'd be shocked if one of them didn't go home. But, then again, look what happened last week. I guess you never know anymore.

I prefer Kristy Lee's voice to Brooke's. I want Brooke to go next. Her 'Okay, Okay, Okay's' are getting on my nerves.

I quite liked 'Jolene' and I loved 'Love Is A Battlefield'. I downloaded that, and I like it more than the original. I actually wasn't a fan of the original, I prefer Brooke's rendition.

Syesha is a great singer but I agree that she's just lacking something. She doesn't have that 'star quality'.
