O'Neal Moore's killers have never been brought to justice, despite the case being opened a recently as 2001. The death of Oneal Moore was a crime against every Amercian. That his killers have evaded capture for 43 years is further crime. Justice may not always be swift, but does carry a long memory. Hopefully, someday, we will at least learn of who did it. Here's a picture of Creed Rogers from about 6 years ago, right at the spot that he was shot at! http://www.chicagotribune.com/la-gxo1arke-creed,1,4490653.photo MegtheEgg86 12-23-2017, 07:58 AM I know I'm digging up a pretty old thread, but I was thinking about this case all this past week and found a somewhat recent (March 2016) DOJ memo on it. It's a case closure notice. There's a lot of information--some names, years, and relationships redacted--but the ultimately the department concluded last year that because so much testimony couldn't be corroborated due to the deaths of so many witnesses with the passage of years, plus lack of physical evidence, the case would be extremely difficult to prosecute and therefore recommended closure. I understand the reasoning, sympathize, and know it certainly wasn't for lack of trying since Day 1, but it is still pretty disappointing to know the chances of anyone ever finding out who killed O'Neal Moore and blinded Creed Rogers is close to zero. https://www.justice.gov/crt/case-document/david-creed-rogers-o-neal-moore-notice-close-file |
