(In an e-mail) :

Beware Of Paper

In The Back Window
Of Your Vechicle

New Way To Do Car Jacking
(Not A Joke)

Heads up everyone! Please, keep this circulating...

You walk across the parking lot, unlock your car and get inside.
You start the engine and shift into Reverse.

When you look into the rearview mirror to back out of your parking space, you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window. So, you shift into Park, unlock your doors, and jump out of your car to remove that paper (or whatever it is) that is obstructing your view.

When you reach the back of your car, that is when the carjackers
appear out of nowhere, jump into your car and take off.

They practically mow you down as they speed off in your
car. And guess what, ladies? I bet your purse is still in the car.
So now the carjacker has your car, your home address, your money, and your keys. Your home and your whole identity are now compromised!

Bewar Of This New Scheme That Is

Now Being Used....

If you see a piece of paper stuck to your back window, just drive away . Remove the paper later. And be thankful that you read this e-mail.

I hope you will forward this to friends and family, especially to women.
A purse contains all kinds of personal information and identification documents, and you certainly do not want this to fall into the wrong hands.

Please keep this going.

Thank you.

pretty poorly-constructed hoax, are there really people who would get out of their cars in a public parking lot with the key still in the ignition anyway?

If somebody wants your car that bad I think they'd use more drastic measures to get what they want.

It could happen, and the e:mail was forwarded by a couple of cops. Anyone should use caution when exiting their car for any reason. I still think it's a decent warning, although most people would notice the paper before getting into their cars.

Its scary to know that those car jackers are probably within a few feet's distance when you are getting into your car.

I honestly think women should keep purses strictly for the unimportant things, such as makeup and all those other things we use when out. Everytime i go shopping or something, i never put my keys, license or my money (if it's over $20) in my purse. That way if someone snatches my purse, i still have the important things in my pocket. I think women should start carrying a wallet in their pockets rather their purse (similar to what guys wear, but maybe thinner and more discrete since women tend to wear tighter clothing). Hell, may be corny, but it is practical. In this world now.

I didn't think it was a joke...(In response to poster's 'Not a joke" post.) :( It seemed like something really serious.(I'm talking about even before I clicked on the thread. CVar schemes aren't funny at all).:(

Thanks Janice. :)

Sometimes I regret posting because some threads I create are taken the wrong way. I mean well. I realize some people might feel what I post some of the time is stupid, I don't mean for things to come across that way, for example, new articles.

No one said that at all, Jenny. She just posted the Snopes link for us as an information link. No one insinuated you are stupid or anything in that regard. :)

This isn't a stupid thread, Jenny. I think that we have all created posts that haven't gone over well. My recent thread about paranormal experiences didn't go over well at all.
