View Full Version : ION should not be showing Family Feud
GARFIELDKOOL 04-07-2008, 07:25 PM Isn't repeats of a game show is what the Game Show Network is for? ION is a crappy network that didn't treat Alice right. They are showing the Wayans Brothers and Steve Harvey, two sitcoms that are already on other networks. I am sure ION will fold in a few years.
Ireneparalegal 04-07-2008, 08:58 PM That is what I thought GSN was for. Who the hell wants to see reruns of a game show? I sure don't. I don't give a rat's ass abt some show that has been aired to death on other channels. What is next? Reruns of Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune?
Buffyboy323 04-07-2008, 10:43 PM Maybe ION had some left-over rights for Family Feud, from the days when they were PAX TV. I remember Family Feud was on that channel for a long time.
friendsfan77 04-07-2008, 11:15 PM Of course I have no problem with reruns of a game show airing, but this one IMHO comes on way too much, not to mention GSN is getting this version of it next month. And an hour of it airs everyday already on many local stations. That's one of the biggest reasons I hate that this is on ION. I wish they'd quit picking up shows that air so much elsewhere. I would rather see Alice again, or something else that hasn't aired much in a while.
JulieSomoski 04-08-2008, 04:03 PM You're right, Family Feud just does not belong on ION right now, especially at 7pm. I could see maybe a couple times on weekend afternoons, but taking up a great slot 4 days a week is nonsense. This network is slowly falling apart every month.
I'd love to see like classic episodes of Price is Right air at 7pm. It would be a lot better than Feud episodes we already get during the day on locals and on GSN
Chelsea 04-08-2008, 04:05 PM Wheel of Fortune?
Not reran even remotely as much as you think it has. I know, not your point :), but still just saying...
And GSN suddenly seems too interesting in rerunning crap like World Poker Tour - not to mention original shows thought dead years ago - to concentrate on running shows people might actually like.
Keep in mind too that for a number of years rerunning game shows is what kept this channel on the air at all (back in the PAX years). This ain't exactly unprecedented for the channel.
catlover79 04-08-2008, 04:12 PM They should keep ION strictly comedies and dramas - and stick the paid programming into the insomniac time slots.

You are right abt that comment regarding rerunning game shows, but ION came to a point where it just wants to throw any old programming on without any real reasoning behind it. "Pick a game show, any old game show to put on at 7 pm"... GSN is full of crap too.

Their entire lineup is probably a bunch of shows they picked out of a hat. They just write down all the old crappy 90's shows, put them in a happy, and choose. I can't think of a better explanation.
I wonder how Quantum Leap premiered last night . . .

I am curious too. My boyfriend wants to watch that show but he works late, so he missed it. And hell if I am going to record it.

I just didn't like watching Drew at 10pm . . . 9pm is usually a better slot for me. Then watching the Pilot episode, and knowing I'd have to sit through 3 weeks of episodes I already own on DVD, was a shame. Why'd they have to start over?
I have no plans to watch Quantum Leap. Never watched it before, but it just doesn't sound interesting to me. I hope it bombs.
Ireneparalegal 04-08-2008, 04:28 PM I seen the pilot episode last night of Drew Carey and guess what? It was blurry like it was the first time they aired it!!!! OH MY EYES!!!!!
friendsfan77 04-08-2008, 04:30 PM If they had much more than 6 hours of programming a day, I'd love to see a full schedule which consits of classic game shows that GSN doesn't seem to bother to want to air, sitcoms, and dramas. It could be kinda like how USA used to be when they still had all that variety.

Yeah, I noticed a huge different between the season 5 finale and the Pilot last night. I don't understand how 2 episodes just years apart from each other can look so different.

I could tell that it was plainly obvious the pilot was shot on film, but there is no way that it looks as bad as they showed it.

That reminds me of Supermarket Sweep! That also has not been seen much in a while. If they want to air that again, BRING IT ON! I'd much rather see that over Wayans Bros. or The Steve Harvey Show (I love SHS but I don't want it on ION, it comes on enough.)
I think GSN's better than they were a few years ago, however, there are still a number of things I would change. Karn Feud comes on way too much, I'm tired of Whammy!: The All New Press Your Luck, Millionaire needs a rest IMO, and I'm tired of poker shows. At least the reality shows are gone.
icecream 04-08-2008, 04:46 PM Family Feud is the only show currently on ION's schedule that's worth watching.

I have to diagree with you on this one. It airs in nearly every local market twice a day, plus it is reran to death everyday on GSN. It doesn't belong at 7pm. Now, if it aired at like 5pm everyday, or on weekends, I wouldn't mind as much - 7 pm is a great slot for a show, plus it replaced Alice.

Oh hell no. ION makes it look like awful. On ABC it was great.
