I watched this movie on YouTube earlier this week and now I've decided to write my last English paper on Domestic Violence and why the laws should be tougher and I wanted to center it around Tracey's case and when I google anything dealing with it I get stuff about the movie. I was wondering if any of you knew where I could get some information about the case.

I think it has to do with the fact that she legally changed her name. It is hard to find any information on her when you use her former name TRACEY THURMAN.
I tried a search on someone else who happened to change their name and it was impossible.
Here is a legal site that talks abt the case, give it a moment to come up:
http://www.jud.ct.gov/publications/Curriculum/Curriculum7.pdf
Here is another site that talks abt the Thurman case:
http://www.uic.edu/classes/socw/socw517/whywomenstaymaharaj.htm
If you google THURMAN v. CITY OF TORRINGTON you will find many links that discuss that case.

Good luck on your paper. It's a good subject to write about.
