I don't know if I should post this in the music section or not. But anyways, for those who watch the CMT (Country Music Television) station, do you think they are picking up too may shows?
IMHO, I think they are. I remember a few years ago, I liked it because it just showed videos now they have shows like: 'Gone Country', 'Country Fried Home Videos', The Ultimate Cyote (spelling?) Ugly Search', 'CMT Dinner and a Movie', 'Trick My Truck, 'Trick My Trucker, and more recently, they started a show called 'Country Fried Planet.'
And they show shows that HAVE NOTHING to do with country music or country: like the VH1 series 'Hogan Knows Best' and the ABC show 'WifeSwap: Meet Your New Mommy.'
I understand they have to pick up shows and it'd be boring if all they showed were country videos, but seriously people! They run videos at the wee hours of the morning and show them again when everybody is in bed.
Another thing: on a show called 'Power Picks' where you can log on to CMT's website and vote for the next video (you have a choice between two) they had Nickelback's 'Rockstar' as a choice once! It's a friggin' rock song. These network heads seriously have ADD.
Do you think CMT is becoming the next MTV?

^^^^Yeah, I had to do a double-take because I was shocked as hell too.

I remember when they used to air music videos. I like country music too. ;) Now, it is nothing but stupid shows, much of which are redneck junk.

I recently accidentally came across this channel when I was trying to find something to watch. They were showing a "funniest home videos" type show, and I was thinking, "what the hell does this have to do with country music?" And then the guy doing the commentary started talking, and had a lame southern accent. So then I thought "oh," and changed the channel.
