Sparks: 'I had a crush on Simon Cowell'

American Idol winner Jordin Sparks has revealed that she used to have a "crush" on Simon Cowell.

She said that before she competed on the show she fancied the British judge and described him as "cute".

Sparks told Metro: "I think there was a time when I had a crush on Simon, but it was when I used to watch the show, not when I was on it."

The singer added: "He’s very cute, but he’s already taken."

Talking about a picture she posted on MySpace protesting against abortion, Sparks commented: "I don’t regret it. Everyone has their own opinion and I’m not going to fight anyone over it.

"I know where I stand on it, that’s what I believe in and that’s all there is to it."
