Love, happiness and fatherhood just aren't enough for actor Scott Baio. The former "Happy Days" actor is now demanding a bronzed statue in his honor -- just like the one his acting partner Henry Winkler will have later this summer when Milwaukee erects a "Bronze Fonz" on its Riverwalk.
Baio, who's career got a bit of a reboot with the VH1 reality shows "Scott Baio is 45 and Single" and this season's "Scott Baio is 46 ... and Pregnant," told People magazine that he's thrilled to be father to Bailey DeLuca Baio -- but "torn up inside" that Chachi is getting the shaft in Milwaukee.
"The Fonz. Sure he was cool and all, but Chachi made 'Happy Days.' Winkler didn't get a spin-off, I did."
Baio, famous for dating several actresses, including Pamela Anderson, Erika Eleniak, Nicole Eggert, Natalie Raitano, Nicolette Sheridan, Denise Richards, Julie McCullough and Heather Locklear, once admitted to losing his virginity to Erin Moran, who played his girlfriend Joanie Cunningham on "Happy Days."
"Just think what a Bronze Chachi would mean to the legacy of Chachi Arcola and Joanie Cunningham," Baio said. "They are loved by all, and Milwaukee deserves to see their love on display 24-7."
Arthur "The Fonz" Fonzarelli, the "Happy Days" character portrayed by Winkler, was recently ranked No. 32 on "Entertainment Weekly" and TV Land's list of the top TV icons of all time.
Chachi didn't make the list, but Baio said he doesn't care.
"'Charles in Charge' didn't make that damn list, either. So, who cares?" Baio said. "How can you trust any list like that?! I'm back and I'm more relevant today, in 2008, than Henry is. With all due respect, I have two reality shows and have far more friends on my Myspace page. And, heck, the owners of Myspace were so happy I made a page that they friended me immediately. People still love me and my characters, especially Chachi."
Visit Milwaukee's Dave Fantle, one of the driving forces behind the Bronze Fonz, admitted a fondness for Chachi but said that "one 'Happy Days' character is enough for now."
Artist and former Hotcakes Gallery owner, Mike Brenner, reached on a train departing Milwaukee, said, "Screw Fonzie and Chachi. Milwaukee sucks
