I am looking at sesaon one right now. ("Bess you is my daughter now") Cloris Leachman looks sensational in the wardrobe. I like MTM's as well. I am just focusing on "Phyllis" right now. To me, she just looked dynamite.:crazy:

Yes, Phyllis was a pretty sharp dresser, and I liked her hairstyle, too. :D

That hair and those clothes together were just fabulous. She was the "it" for fashion durint 1970. Rhoda was "it" for 1972. Mary was "it" for 1974. I liked Mary's wardrobe during the first year but she was just explosive during season five, six and seven.

So many of the ladies' outfits are gorgeous! I'd love to wear some of them myself...a lot of those styles are "hip" again. :lol:

The go go boots made it back into style during the early part of this decade.

Is it me, or did anyone think that in general, Phyllis/Cloris was kind of hot back in the day? :-)

Of course, I am enjoying the character, as I have been with most things since rewatching MTM. I can't believe I used to not want to like Cloris Leachman just because she "took away" Mrs. Garrett all those years ago. She is really great!

I think she has the spirit of an artist and the courage to make you want to not like her.

She had some wonderfully bold taste. It was an awesome thing.

No, I didn't hear that, but I believe it. She is indeed multi-talented...with an Oscar, a Golden Globe and a zillion Emmys to her credit. :D

Agreed! I love all those 70's styles, the mini dresses, the boots, the pant suits.

Most clothes in the 70's were great. I didn't like ALL of the clothes, that is including some outfits from Rhoda's wardrobe and Mary's wardrobe. Only Mary's wardrobe until Rhoda left. After Rhoda left, Mary got some fantastic clothes that I would LOVE to wear. Although, a few of my favorite Mary Style outfits were worn in earlier seasons.

i think it was actually in one of the interviews on the extras on one of the MTM DVDs already out when cloris said those were her own clothes...it was almost a throwaway line...she did have a unique style, though, and she was hot

and as an actress and a comedienne, she was fantastic...what a great delivery...i can't remember the exact situation, but it was in the episode when she was selling real estate, and murray made a wisecrack about her. just the way she said one word, "Murray!", she turned it around on him and made him feel like a heel
