I hate these too, especially if the speakers are turned up from listening to music or something. They can easily catch you off guard.

I agree!!! I've never had a problem with ads ever since I started using Firefox.

We are working on finding where those ads are coming from and they will be disabled. We have all video/audio ads filtered out by default but sometimes they sneak in.

Their's an I Pod one that I just noticed today that talks too.

I thought I had something weird going on with my PC. I usually open all the new threads I want to read in separate windows, and that one with the beep (which is doing it as I type), is REALLY annoying because it does it on each window. I saw another one a little bit ago with what sounded like frogs in the background.

lzolol i figured out the music notation for windows xp sound alerts about a year ago, the second staff down is the one in those stupid ads that need to be outlawed.
