I said this before one time and let me say it again, when I was in junior high when WBK debuted, my classmates and I thought the singer of the theme song was WASHINGTON!!!! I swear, it sounded like him in certain parts of the song. I was shocked as hell to find out the guy is white. John Sebastian from the Lovin' Spoonful.

Well, I think the guy has a voice that turns people to stone. It is spooky.

Did you hear the song on the radio when it was made a single? I mean, they played THE HELL OUT OF THAT DAMN SONG!

No, I just remember as a kid sitting watching Kotter and remember my eyes rolling to the back of my head listening to that awful song.

The theme is definitely NOT the highlight of the show at all. There were a few things on that show that got on my last nerve.

Oh I loved the show, there were a few things though that I could have done without. John Travolta saved the show for me. ;) I hated the constant referencing of Groucho Marx by Mr. Kotter. Mr. Kotter's wife, what was the point of her, she was hardly seen and she was sarcastic.

Oh yes. I have been faithfully in love with that man ever since those days.  Others have come and gone, a crush here, a crush there, some other actors catch my eye and other parts of me ;) but overall, John is my man! :D

I'm sure his gyrating booty had nothing to do with that in Saturday Night Fever? ;)

THAT only intensified my seething hot passion for him. :faint:   I am so glad I have the movie on DVD. ;) A man who can move and shake his booty like that, has to be definitely a great lover.

Damn, we really could use some more R-rated smileys around here.

Somehow, I doubt the actor playing Beau had the moves that Johnny Boy had.

"Welcome Back" is one of my favorite theme songs. :D It's the only song by John Sebastian that I actually like though and I couldn't stand Lovin' Spoonful. Do You Believe in Magic? Hell no! puke:
