Astute BW fans know that this is the episode Dick York collasped on while filming and was never to return back to the show. So at what point did he collapse? it must have been early in the filming in order to have gotten while little parts of Darrin is actually in the episode (esp when Maurice reverses the spell of turning Darrin into a jackass).

Also, Samantha early on, while celebrating with Darrin for his birthday, after giving him his first gift, says something to the effect of "I have another gift for you. Actually it is for both of us." At this point is when Maurice's big dramatic entrance takes place. Samantha never got around to telling Darrin what that gift was--so was this episode ORIGINALLY supposed to have been the one where Samantha announces she is pregnant again? But with Dick York's collapse, was the episode hurriedly rewritten in order to salvage what had already been filmed? Therefore we got the episode entitled "Samantha's Good News" as the one where she announces the new baby is coming (which always pains me knowing that we never got to see Dick York's Darrin react to that news).

Sorry for being long winded:wave:

I'm not sure exactly which point that was, but Dick York went into great detail about that day in his book, The Seesaw Girl and Me, which was finally published in 2004. Here's the link:

I think that originally was going to be where Samantha was going to tell Darrin she was pregnant again. It is indeed a shame we couldn't have seen DY's Darrin react to that, and be the father of a boy. It sure would've been a different dynamic than he had with Tabitha, but no less special.

One day, I'll get it (or see if my local library has it).
I currently have BW Forever and I Love The Illusion (Agnes' bio).

I have Bewitched Forever, and I took Agnes' biography out of the library. That was a terrific read!
