one of my fave lines from the show. To this day, everytime I have the opportunity to use a PA system, I do that line!! And amazingly, there is someone out there who recognizes where that line comes from.

OMG my son has this toy cash register and it has a microphone attached to it and you can speak into it and it is pretty loud. It is made just like the ones in the grocery store. Well, when he first got it, I said this line: BETTY, PICK UP YOUR HASH BLACKS! My boyfriend was like, "Huh?" I had to tell him. Still, he was not familiar with that scene since he hadn't seen L&S in years!!! I still do that on occasion when my son plays with that toy. I will be sad the day that toy goes to the thrift store. :(

That episode is one of my faves of all time. It is a riot. I know another poster here, Brieannas loves it too. She and I chatted abt it here somewhere.

I LOVE that line! It's a totally ridiculous throw away line, but it is the highlight of that episode. I can't watch that segment with a straight face because of that line!

And in a really DEEP VOICE: "Betty...pick up your hash blacks."
 Remember she had to use a dust pan to pick up the hash browns.

"Betty, please."
"Betty, please pick up."
"Betty, please pick up your wienies."
"Betty, please pick up your hash blacks."
"Betty, pick up please."
"Attention folks, please don't harass Betty please."
"Betty, please pick up."

CLASSIC. This was the second-to-last episode of the final Milwaukee season... even though I think that the show was in need of a change at around that point in its run, this episode shines. (..and this isn't meant to imply that I agree that the change that was ultimately decided on - i.e. the Cali move - was the right one.)

I hope Season 5 gets released this year. I love this episode. It ties with "Separate Tables" for my favorite episode of the season. Oh! and, of course, "Murder On The Moosejaw Express". :)

There is a band by the name "Dead Lazlo's Place"...I think they had to take it from this episode...because...come on, where else? EDIT: They DID take it from this episode...they list "Lenny and the Squigtones" as one of their fave bands LOL.

I emailed my sister (who was a waitress for several years) the YouTube clip. I think she'll get a kick out of it.

I love it when Laverne laughs and says, "Why would you do that?" in reference to renaming it Dead Lazlo's Place. Then she slaps her hand over her mouth in disgust when Shirley reads off the menu "Try our mouth-watering Dead Lazlo Burgers."

She thought the clip was hilarious - reminded her of the "not-so-good old days".

It turns out that one of my former co-workers is a huge L&S fan. Once I found that out, every time I saw him at work I'd go in a really deep voice, "Betty, please". Then we'd re-enact the entire scene. Hilarious!!

Season 5, I believe. It was one of the final Milwaukee episodes before they all went to LA.
