Oh boy was she ever! She became one of the series breakout stars during her run from 1977-1983 and won herself two daytime Emmy Awards for Best Actress.

Her character Karen Wolek had been played by a few different actresses prior to her landing the role, but it had never really become a fan favorite. Karen was a society woman married to a wealthy doctor, at first just your typical bored housewife witch. But when Judith took over the character she added something new to the role, sympathy and neuroses, that endeared her to the audience. She made Karen complicated. She was given a big task to act when Karen's past came back to bite her in the butt. Karen grew bored of life as a rich doctors wife and sought out something else, and after several complicated plot twists became involved in prostitution, mostly because she was being blackmailed by Marco Dane. This caught up to her when her friend Victoria Lord (Erika Slezak) was on-trial for a murder she did not commit. Karen knew Viki was innocent, but in order to prove it she would have to admit her past as a hooker and how she knew that Viki was not guilty. Anyway in one of the most famous and revered scenes in Daytime Emmy history, Karen finally breaks down and admits the whole sorted scandal to all of town, including her husband, Larry who is disgusted and eventually divorces poor Karen. She gives an amazing performance that was at one time ranked as one the top 100 performances in TV history and was rated the #1 most memorable moment in soap opera history.

She utters the now infamous line "I AM A COMMON HOOKER and MARCO DANE WAS MY PIMP!" and did so with such passion that she earned back to back Emmy's for her work.
