I wish I could tell you I knew why they aren't releasing anymore seasons of DS. I've been waiting for them to continue All in the Family, The Facts Of Life, Hart to Hart, What's Happening Now!!, Hazel, Archie Bunker's Place... They own a lot of classic tv shows. However, I think people have lost interest in Sony releases. Even this message board isn't as active as it used to be. No releases...nothing to talk about. Their schedule should've been filled with follow-up seasons in the coming months. It's a shame that they are missing out on the opportunity to capitalize on what the fans want.

Sony does fine releasing current shows: King of Queens, Seinfeld, etc. (The complete series for both are already out), but they just don't care about the classics. It'll be a two-year wait between releases for shows like ALL IN THE FAMILY, THE JEFFERSONS, and FACTS OF LIFE, which are all veritable classics, but crap like TIL DEATH and RULES OF ENGAGEMENT are out in a heartbeat.

I agree, it's just BS. Diff'rent Strokes, Facts of Life, AITF, The Jeffersons... these were all popular shows and they still are today in reruns and they still have loyal fanbases. There's no reason why many of the shows on DVD today are seemingly abandoned.

There's a marathon this Sunday but it airs regularly weekdays from 9-10 am ET. Right now they're towards the end of season 3.

Us fans who don't live in the US never get a chance to see any re-runs, so we rely purely on Sony for their dvds!!! I'm waiting for Facts of Life, Diff'rent Strokes and The Jeffersons... and any other rare shows they have the rights to!

It's good that BET picked up Diffrent strokes but it's still in a odd time slot(9am) which won;t help future DVD releases.

it's needs a evening time slot so it can gain a new fan base for the people who are under 22 and never seen the show

you hit the nail right on the head. i cannot believe that the likes of diff'rent strokes, the jeffersons haven't been released on dvd in the UK still. i do hope though that these shows are sold here in the not too distant future, even if not many people in britain have heard or seen them. i had to get my fix of DS, the jeffersons on you tube. also on my dvd wish list are hangin' with mr cooper, who's the boss? and family matters to name. there has to be someone representing sony in europe or the uk, who is responsible for the distribution rights of these shows, that we can contact via email about this situation

No way in that time period, Solomon. BET airs originals and stuff then.

Sadly there's no way that most of those shows would ever be released in the UK because Sony would probably not think that there would be a wide enough audience. They've only just go around to releasing MArried with Children which was released in America years ago - and that was actually quite popular in the UK. The only one that is possible is Diff'rent Strokes - because it has quite a strong nostalgia following in the UK. But they would probably just issue season 1 and then stop.
