I loved the short-lived comedy/sci-fi/western series The Adventures of
Brisco County, Jr.. Any other fans out there? I thought it deserved
more than one season. It was a good combination of the tongue-in-cheek Maverick, the futuristic elements of Wild, Wild West, and a cool
homage to the old-time movie matinee serials of the '30s and '40s. And
Bruce Campbell was excellent in the title role. Vastly underrated series (in
my opinion). It should have gotten more promotion, and support, from the network. But I guess by the 1990s, they figured no one was interested in
westerns anymore.

Welcome to an all new series here on JoBlo called Gone But Not Forgotten which explores old television shows. You might think these series, once they were taken off the air, disappeared into obscurity never to be heard of again but we've dug up these relics of the past to bask in their sweet nostalgia.

Our second episode covers (https://www.looper.com/999876/the-untold-truth-of-the-adventures-of-brisco-county-jr/) the cult one-season wonder (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Series/TheAdventuresOfBriscoCountyJr), "The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr." (https://web.archive.org/web/20061031125335/http://www.jumptheshark.com/a/adventuresofbriscocountyjr.htm) starring (https://variety.com/1993/tv/reviews/the-adventures-of-brisco-county-jr-1200432884/) the man, the myth, the legend - Bruce Campbell (https://www.bruce-campbell.com/product.asp?specific=143)! While only running (https://www.cancelledscifi.com/2018/09/20/cancelled-too-soon-the-adventures-of-brisco-county-jr-1993/) one season, thanks to DVD/streaming, the show (https://filmschoolrejects.com/adventures-of-brisco-county-jr/)'s cult hasn't diminished (https://geekade.com/2017-11-14-before-their-time-the-adventures-of-brisco-county-jr/) over the years (https://www.moviejawn.com/home/2023/8/21/what-a-good-guy-30-years-of-brisco-county-jr-and-bruce-campbell), with many calling it Campbell's best role outside of Ash Williams. This look back at "The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr." (https://web.archive.org/web/20140401041634/http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/topic/3136654-the-adventures-of-brisco-county-jr/?view=getnewpost) is written/edited by David Arroyo and Narrated by Awfully Good Movies' Jesse Shade. It Was a Thing on TV: Episode 438--The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. (https://www.itwasathingontv.com/e/episode-438-the-adventures-of-brisco-county-jr/)

In our annual episode where you pick the topic, we gave you 3 shows from which to choose. The show with the most votes was this one, a one-season classic about an Old West bounty hunter avenging his father's death, with science fiction and steampunk elements.
