Two-time Oscar winner Robert De Niro has topped a new poll naming the "Most Shameless Paycheck Role Of All Time."

De Niro's turn as Fearless Leader in cartoon series spin-off The Adventures Of Rocky & Bulwinkle (2000) comes in at number one on Entertainment Weekly's online countdown of respected actors who starred in films so dismal, they must have done so for the money.

At two is Richard Burton's role as a priest in 1977's poorly-received Exorcist II: The Heretic, while Ben Kingsley is at three with Bloodrayne (2005).

Rounding out the top five are Tony Curtis and Dennis Hopper and their appearances in sequel The Bad News Bears Go To Japan (1978) and videogame adaptation Super Mario Bros. (1993) respectively.

Oh my. If they did it for the money, what of it? Also, if you were being paid to travel to some nice locale, wouldn't you do it? I would. So Robert De Niro did a cartoon-movie...and? Maybe he was bored at home and wanted something to do. I sometimes wonder abt celebs and the roles they pick and choose, but the stars mentioned on this (Tony Curtis, Robert and Richard Burton) HAVE MONEY ALREADY, so obviously they are doing it to get some screen time, get a paid trip to some nice locale and getting a whopping paycheck. I say, let them be. ;)

what about Cuba Gooding Jr.? His list of crap movies is so numerous at this point that people wonder why he won an Oscar in the first place. So DeNiro has had a few duds....it's hardly like Cuba who does Boat Trip, Snow Dogs, Daddy Day Camp and the sort on his resume, whereas DeNiro has good movies still to balance the junk out

Exactly, that can be added to what I said. At least the stars like Tony Curtis and Robert De Niro have a vast list of quality movies under their belt. So what if they make a bad choice or a dud. I mean, we don't know if they are bored and want to work and will take anything, or if the location of filming is in such a great place they will take the job just to get a paid vacation. Cuba is a good example of won winning an Oscar and having that bad karma follow them around afterwards.

while I wouldn't say she's good in an award-winning sense, I have always liked Sandra Bullock, but at least half the movies I've seen her in are unwatchable garbage

There are only two works with Angelina that I like. The movie biography, GIA and HACKERS, pre-Angelina hype from 1995.

Robert De Niro, a six-time Academy Award nominee won the award for his role in the children's film The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle.

A critic for Entertainment Weekly, who compiled the poll, said: "He was the young Vito Corleone. He was Travis Bickle. He was Jake La Motta, Rupert Pupkin and Al Capone.

"He's been nominated for six Oscars. He is our greatest living actor. No question, no room for debate. And yet, there is that one little aberration. Little? Who am I kidding? One huge-ass aberration called The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle."

The top ten Most Shameless Paycheck-Grabbing Roles in History are as follows:

1. Robert De Niro - The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle
2. Richard Burton - Exorcist II: The Heretic
3. Sir Ben Kingsley - BloodRayne
4. Tony Curtis - The Bad News Bears Go to Japan
5. Dennis Hopper - Super Mario Bros
6. Peter O'Toole - Club Paradise
7. Orson Welles - Transformers: The Movie
8. Judi Dench - The Chronicles of Riddick
9. Michael Caine - Jaws: The Revenge
10. Demi Moore - Striptease

Those were good movies. I haven't seen either in quite awhile, I had forgotten she was in either one of them.

De Niro is one of my favorite actors, but it is true that over the the last decade he has made some pretty poor career choices.

I've never seen Waterworld. Is it as bad as people say? Though I do know some people who liked it.

7. Orson Welles - Transformers: The Movie

10. Demi Moore - Striptease

Oh come on! Orson Welles was dying for crying out loud! Cut the guy some slack.

Demi Moore? Really? Considering half her filmography is bad films, can Striptease really be considered her low point?

Have you ever seen The Butcher's Wife?

What the **** was that about?

I agree about Striptease being an odd choice for Demi's worst work. I actually enjoyed it

There should be a thread where we can name movies that we liked that everyone else hated. I think there may have been one, infact.

Even though it is considered one of the biggest disasters in movie history, I like Brian De Palma's adaptation of Tom Wolfe's The Bonfire of the Vanities with Tom Hanks and Bruce Willis. Sure it was a flawed movie and not nearly as good as the book, not to mention not one of De Palma's better movies, but I hardly would say it was a bad movie.

I also love Martin Scorsese's Bringing Out the Dead. This is one of the few Scoreses movies that even critics didn't like. However, I think it is a great movie with a really good performance by Nicholas Cage.

I mean really now, I have never considered Demi to be a hot commodity for films nor have I ever seen her acting skills be so good that it is great. She has never been Oscar caliber material, ever. She may have box office appeal (to who I wonder) but she is no Katherine Hepburn or Sally Field.

I just finished reading that Demi Moore and Michael Caine (who are both on this list) are making a movie called FLAWLESS!

Raul Julia's last movie was a bomb known as "Street Fighter." Richard Burton's last movie was a bomb known as "Absolution,"... or at least it was the last of his movies to be released in the US.

If you look at the list of films Demi has appeared in, there are only a few movies that can be considered "good" in between a bunch of movies that are mediocre to just plain awful.

So there is no way she should be on a list with the likes of De Niro or Judi Dench, who only have one or two stinkers to thier credit.

True dat. Seriously, I don't take her acting seriously and neither should anyone else. I think she entertains, but that is it. Even the films she may have thought were "serious works" were really laughable. She certainly doesn't belong on this list. Now, if the list consisted of actors/actresses who act in movies just to get a paycheck ALL THE TIME, then Demi is the top contender.

Robin Williams has a better quality of acting work under his belt and he too started on television like Demi Moore. And!!! Robin has an Oscar. ;)
