View Full Version : Alice ending 4/3/08 on ION?
ual191 03-24-2008, 11:52 AM I noticed in the tv guide that Alice's last episode is playing April 3rd...they are skipping three episodes to get to that point. Can anyone confirm?
What is going to come in place of Alice?
Or are they going to restart the series and just skip those three?
Thanks!
FredScuttle 03-24-2008, 12:07 PM I hadn't heard that, but yeah, I notice they are showing the last 2 episodes on Thursday 4-3-08. We can check tomorrow, usually the online guides go 2 weeks in advance, and it should show Monday April 7th.
Ireneparalegal 03-24-2008, 05:28 PM What three episodes are being skipped?
Pavan 03-24-2008, 05:36 PM ION will announce the new schedule for April this week. Keep checking the news blog (http://www.sitcomsonline.com/blog) and the General Sitcom Questions & Discussion message board on these forums.

JulieSomoski 03-24-2008, 06:10 PM Good catch . . . that could be a good sign that Alice will be gone after that. And since ION hasn't made any announcements yet about the rest of April after that, we'll just have to wait and see.

Thanx sweetie.
I checked ION's website and there is nothing mentioning ALICE being removed or any shows being ADDED. I also checked their schedule and the grid goes up to April 6th, Sunday.
Pavan 03-24-2008, 07:39 PM Irene, that's because it hasn't been announced yet. If you check their schedule for April 7 tomorrow on the website I can bet you it will list Alice but with no episode info (unless they announce it)...because nothing after April 6 has been scheduled as of now.

Good call. I just checked, and it doesn't show any info, except a generic show description. Of course, neither did Wayans Bros or Mama's Family, nor alot of local programming on other channels. Alot of them were blank.
Jude The Obscure 03-25-2008, 12:15 PM on the ION site, Mama isn't even listed monday--it says "programming info unavailable"
Scoobiedoo30 03-25-2008, 01:50 PM they will show the listing for Mama Family when The Clock hit's 12:00 am
Pavan 03-25-2008, 04:30 PM Yes, Alice is gone starting April 7:

Unless it is one of those TBD slots, but I highly doubt it.
Ireneparalegal 03-25-2008, 07:52 PM Goodbye Alice Goodbye. :(
Scoobiedoo30 03-25-2008, 07:55 PM you nervery know it may Returned

Scoobiedoo30 03-25-2008, 08:41 PM I am sorry to see Alice going on Hiatus
Ireneparalegal 03-25-2008, 08:44 PM Knowing ION, it won't be on hiatus. Sadly, it may be gone for good. ION has such terrible scheduling.
Brian Damage 03-25-2008, 08:46 PM That's why I gave up watching this show on ION. How can you be truly invested in a show, if it constantly gets bumped?
Ireneparalegal 03-25-2008, 08:47 PM Not only that but they are NOT airing 3 episodes simply to get to the finale episode on Friday. How many episodes of ALICE were skipped? Too many if you ask me.
Scoobiedoo30 03-25-2008, 08:50 PM so you think that Alice Contract may expire with Ion if that the case I sure hope that Alice comes out on DVD
FredScuttle 03-25-2008, 08:52 PM And to make matters worse, it's being replaced by Family Fued...Boy they sure didn't leave Baywatch on very long either. Looks like it's off the schedule already too.
Ireneparalegal 03-25-2008, 08:53 PM Yeah, it seems they either took off Baywatch or it too will be cut down to 2-3 days only. GOOD!!!!!!!
Scoobiedoo30 03-25-2008, 08:57 PM I rather see a Sitcom in the 6:00 pm and 6:30 pm Central Time Hour
FredScuttle 03-25-2008, 09:48 PM Yeah, it seems they either took off Baywatch or it too will be cut down to 2-3 days only. GOOD!!!!!!!
It doesn't bother me either, but it's just really annoying that they start running a long running show, and only show it for a month. They did the same thing with Perfect Strangers. But they left Mama's Family on long enough to run thru it several times.

Mama's Family, I am sorry, but it has run its course. And for whatever reason they continue to air it, I haven't a clue. Could it be the only show they air that gets reasonable, good ratings?
bellbm 03-25-2008, 11:18 PM Well, at least we will get to see the last episode, although I've been taping them all, and I will not be happy that I will be missing three episodes.
Does anyone have them on videotape from the TNN or E! or other syndication run, that they could loan to me?

Either the guy who is in charge of programming loves this show, or maybe he was on the show and is getting residuals when it airs ;) (that's a joke, of course :) )
bellbm 03-25-2008, 11:39 PM If the programming guy loved Alice, he/she would not let the episodes be butchered the way they are, and aired with missing critical scenes.

When I told my mom that Alice was going off, she was like "Is Mama staying?"
I said yes, she was like "Oh they need to take her off and leave Alice on!"
At least Alice's ratings were not bad enough for it to be yanked off again after only a month.

TVFactFan 03-26-2008, 12:39 PM What are the ratings for ION's shows? HOw can we find out?
I'm not sure but I know the ratings for Mama's Family at one point last year was doing better than HOCKEY on NBC-lol It was reported on ESPN
TALLguyinKY 03-27-2008, 01:01 AM "Mama's Family" has always been a ratings smash in syndicated re-runs. In some markets it has beaten out the late-night talk shows in landslides.

I made a thread yesterday on that board after I found a post YOU MADE ON THAT BOARD saying how Wayans Brothers WILL NEVER BE ON DVD. Well, it is on DVD.
IT IS A STUPID PIECE OF SH*T SHOW, NO ARGUMENT THERE.

Well, given the choice between Hockey and Mama's Family, I'd probably either watch Mama's Family, or turn off the TV ;)
Ireneparalegal 03-27-2008, 12:58 PM Hockey? Pleeeeeze...
Anything on tv would beat out hockey.

But only season 1, which was such a poor seller, that all future releases have been revoked until further notice
In the video store I used to work at, the DVD set NEVER rented! We actually got notified to return it to distribution because of poor rentals.

That is great news. You should make a post or thread on that fact on the Wayans board. Sonny and I have livened up that board or should I say, turned it upside down. ;)

naaaaaaaaaah! I don't want to be like that certain poster on the Golden Girls board who went on there to say what a lousy show it was!
