my mom watched AMEN for the first time last night and was amazed at how different sherman's character was on AMEN and that he was more likable and funnier. She said on the JEFFERSONS he was mad all the time for nothing and always makingh rude jokes about the neighbors and not as likable.

What do you think?

To me either character was fine

He was less stressed out on Amen, but he was much funnier on the Jeffersons to me.

I know he DANCED more on AMEN which was one of the things I iked about the Deacon Frye character. He only danced 3 times on the Jeffersons

I've only watched Amen occasionally, but from what I've seen, Sherman is definitely a lot nicer and quieter on Amen than on The Jeffersons. He was much more funny, no doubt, on The Jeffersons.

I would have to say both Amen and The Jeffersons

George Jefferson is the funniest character in tv history, in my opinion. A very close second is Jack Tripper.

I agree with you. George Jeffersons was hysterical. Deacon Frye was nice, but definitely not hysterical.

I liked Ernest Frye because he was even more of a shyster than George Jefferson. The Deacon also had a great foil in the Rev. Gregory. I wonder why Isabel Sanford never guested on Amen??
