Schneider was a billion times worse than Mr. Bentley. Bentley was goofy, but he was also very intelligent and he actually RANG THE DOORBELL instead of letting himself in.
Schneider was stupid, dumb, creepy, annoying and intrusive.
At least Bentley never stormed into the Jefferson's apartment. As goofy as he was, he was intelligent and he was a gentleman. He had manners. Schneider was a raving idiot.

I wouldn't go so far as to say Schnieder is god, that's a bit of a stretch, but he IS the funniest person on the show. That I'll agree with.

I agree. The character really fit in the first season. But as the seasons go by his role on the show grew too much. He was so freaking annoying budding into their business. There were many scenes that I thought he ruined when he walked in.
Didn't he just walk into the apartment sometimes? Who would allow a maintenance man to do that? Mr Bentley was sometimes annoying on the Jeffersons but not as bad as Schneider.
