View Full Version : The Hot Air Balloon episode at 7:30pm was another example of WTF???-lol
TVFactFan 03-18-2008, 08:38 PM this is the worst episode i have seen so far, I clicked it off after 15 min
Alice and some cool dude in a Hot Air balloon was too much for me-lol
friendsfan77 03-19-2008, 12:11 AM there were the little parts I liked, like Mel and Jolene freaking out and Vera talking to Elliott over the walkie-talkie, but the episode as a whole wasn't a favorite. I did think it was better than "Alice and the Devoted Dentist" that aired at 7 PM tho. that one I found to be rather boring.
FredScuttle 03-19-2008, 09:33 AM Mel must have had a pretty good insurance policy on that diner, as many times as it got partially destroyed: "Good Buddy Flo" (Flo crashes a truck into it), "Vera Goes Out On a Limb" (tree smashes into it), "Alice's Hot Air Romance" (hot air balloon crashes thru the roof) and "Big Bad Mel" (wrecking ball into the front, this episode hasn't aired yet, but will next Wed. at 7:30pm)
Scoobiedoo30 03-19-2008, 01:19 PM I was wondering who was the cool Dude

there's also the episode where Vera was left in charge and by the end it was RAINING heavily in the diner... or at least the sprinkler system made it look that way, LOL

Jed Allen. He had a character on the soap Days of Our Lives, and also had a recurring role as Steve's dad on Beverly Hills, 90210. I'm sure he's done other stuff, but without looking it up, those are 2 of his acting jobs I'm aware of :)
Jude The Obscure 03-19-2008, 07:02 PM I know one thing, I am quickly losing my patience with these latter day episodes.....makes one wish that Flo never left the show!!

I liked Belle and Jolene to some degrees, but Flo was definitely a favorite of mine on this show. It wasn't the same to me after Polly Holliday left.
Jude The Obscure 03-19-2008, 07:19 PM It has nothing to do with Belle or Jolene (although lately, i've been wanting to tell her, "BAG IT, BLONDIE!" myself)--I think the lack of good writing was really starting to show at this point.

The show ran its course. Simple as that and it showed from the 7th season to the end.
Jude The Obscure 03-20-2008, 01:53 PM I agree........although it was fun to see Linda once again play Vera's landlady, Mrs. Walden. Which begs the question, Elliot moved in with Vera in her tiny apt??

vera's apt was more realistic since she was only a waitress. alice on the otherhand, her apt didn't match her occupation

But Alice's apt only had the one bedroom as well (which begs the question--why did Tommy have bunk beds?).
Scoobiedoo30 03-20-2008, 11:33 PM Tommy must have Bunk Beds because Mels mom did not like The Top Bunk or The Smalle Bunk
