View Full Version : Was Shelley Long Leaving A Good Move For Her? Brian Damage 03-18-2008, 08:40 AM Or was it the beginning of the end for her career? Mikado 03-18-2008, 07:07 PM Looked like the end to me, her movies were for the most part awful! (Even Speilburg's SL movie [The money Pit] was unwatchable!) BensonFan 03-18-2008, 08:11 PM I would say it was definitely armageddon as far as her future success was concerned. By the way, was that comment Woody made about her in the first episode (I think it was the first) of Season 6 an actual jab at Shelley? He said something like "last we heard, she was trying to write for Hollywood" or something along those lines. SpunkiiMonkii7078 03-24-2008, 02:02 AM I've always loved Shelley as Diane is my favorite character on the show. When she left the show she was pretty much unheard of from then on out, so I suppose career wise it would have been smarter to stay on Cheers. However, in interviews she says she doesn't at all regret leaving Cheers and she was always happy with the decision she made. She also had her daughter to take care of too and it was probably nice to be at home with her. Scoobiedoo30 04-09-2008, 02:06 AM I throught it was a bad move because sam would not have a girlfriend. Moondance 04-10-2008, 02:53 AM I loved The Money Pit and Hello Again, Outrageous Fortune, Troop Beverly Hills, Freaky Friday, both Brady Bunch movies!!! But leaving CHEERS, closed a door for her, yes, but opened up a whole new door for Kirsty Ally! Where would she be without CHEERS? Shelley Long still has a pretty nice fanbase... it's funny how things work out. MightyCelestial 09-01-2008, 04:31 AM I think it was a bad move for her, but a good move for the show. Schmoopie 09-02-2008, 01:06 AM I never really cared for her, but I noticed that her career never really took off. She did a few movies that were tolerable. Andrea |
