Would love to see how this show would handle the 2008 Presidential election. Archie would have two candidates to attack on the dems side. Could only imagine the un-pc humor that would come out of his mouth.

Mike would be pro-Obama, Gloria for Hillary, Archie for McCain and Edith would be torn between Hillary and Obama.

And if cousin Maude came to visit she'd be for both dem candidates, too. Not to mention the Jeffersons!

lol. I keep wondering how AITF would handle this (or any election.)

I think you're right on about the characters choosing candidates.

Also, spot on about Archie saying un-pc things. I can hear him in my head now. lol.

Rock on, McCain!

I think your assessment is right on the mark regarding Archie, Edith, Gloria and Maude. I have two different scenarios regarding Mike: The first is like yours, pro-Obama--I could see that. The other is that sixties guys like Mike sometimes went to extremes. Nowadays, they would either be Nader-type supporters on the one hand, or he might even be to the right of Archie: I've seen this in people I know from that (my) generation. You do raise an interesting question. Good thread!

I know for a fact the Jefferson's and the Evanses would be for Obama.
