View Full Version : How much is enough to say you got a bad trader?
pielpr 03-15-2008, 07:57 AM Once again, I need your help here, people: I was wondering how much will you take before posting a bad trader's nick or info...I started a trade with a guy over 2 months ago. I sent everything within a week. He said he had everything ready, but time passed and nothing arrived. I emailed the guy a few times until he replied saying the parcel must be lost. Another 3-4 weeks have passed and nothing. I've asked several times for the tracking number, but he's never produced any. I emailed the guy 2 days ago and he hasn't replied to my message. Should I post the guy's info?
robyrob 03-15-2008, 03:15 PM can you forward the info to me first?

I admire your patience .... I however, would have him exposed after 2 weeks of him having received my end of trade.
I understand some new people are scared to post negative feedback because of reputation or of fear of not getting anything back if the complaint escalates in public - BUT, look at where you are now ... 2 months and nothing and in the meantime some others may have been taken advantage of by the same person. Sometimes you have to take the bullet.

robyrob 03-15-2008, 06:45 PM definitely 2 months with nothing is too long to wait for something, you can bring it to my attention first before going public with it, to try and see if the trade can be salvaged.
if a package gets "lost", a tracking number should be provided - especially if someone is claiming to have resent it.
if they won't respond to a moderator's attempts to fix the situation, then by all means you should go public as other traders should be aware of a situation with a possible bad trader.
three 14 03-15-2008, 06:54 PM i had the same problem i waited and waited i reported him and he is now banded later i found out things about him that i should not put on the this sight but it was bad what he was doing.
Bratac19 03-16-2008, 10:40 PM I agree with Joker. You have been more than patient. You've done all you can on your end. And I give you props for waiting so long. I wouldn't have.
pielpr 03-18-2008, 09:45 AM Thanks to all of you. I'm going to forward the info first to the moderator and we'll see his decision.

I had that problem and then I came out with his name and address and all of a sudden he gets back with me and tells me that it must have gotten lost in the mail. I ended up getting my part of the trade.
Just go and out him where he hangs out. If he comes through with his end of the trade then you can say so in the thread you start.
pielpr 03-28-2008, 10:21 PM Ok, 2 more weeks and not a sinlge word. Even with the moderator's intervention. The guy's nick is Bman.
I once had to wait about 55 days for a package from a canadion trader! and she said that she had to wait even longer for mine, although I sent before she did!
so, sometimes it really can take that long I guess..
this thread reminds me, I got a bad trader to report...

THANK YOU!!!! you just saved another trader...... ME!:)
I've had something lined up with this person for about a week and a half now (nothing sent, but a trade worked out).
You might have saved me a real headache.
Cheers! this round's on me.

savageamusement 03-30-2008, 04:53 PM Well I need to speak up then.
I actually traded b-man over november-
I sent him Webster complete- immediately.
He told me he sent wayans brothers complete, after a few weeks went by and I didn't recieve it- I let him know.
he told me he entrusted its shipping to a family member and they didn't send it- obviously that is an issue between he and them.
He was going to remake the set-and send it.
That set he redid, didn't have a season in it- he said some discs were bad- he was getting a replacement.
Another month went by- he said his wife had a baby, he was behind- but would get it out.
However, he did post looking for a trade the same week he told me he was behind in shipping (shrug)
Then he shipped the season, which never came.
2 more weeks went by he said it must have gotten lost. He would redo it. But had no confirmation number-
After another month i wrote him and said forget it, the entire wait was november till january - and after 3 months, it never got resolved- I would find it elsewhere.
I didn't consider him a "bad" trader by typical standards, but I admit, I have had other complaints about delays, and complaints of wait time/excuses given that make received a long process
T-Greg 03-31-2008, 01:21 PM The bottom line is, several people have dealt with this person and received nothing. One person not receiving something is fairly common, but when it happens to other people too.... scam!

I have to speak up here because I traded with him at the end of February.
I had a GREAT trade with him. We swapped 21 discs and he sent mine and I was running behind (as usual) and I think I took an extra week to mail to him.
I'm always slow and he was really nice and patient and sent me some great quality stuff. Hopefully all is okay with him because this really surprises me to hear this about him!

BAN HIM and cut off his feet!!!:smash: :smash: :smash:
robyrob 04-01-2008, 10:10 AM BAN HIM and cut off his feet!!!:smash: :smash: :smash:
well, considering how long he's been a member here in good standing, I'd like to give him at least a chance to respond to this and make good his end in all trades that are outstanding.
so far he has NOT responded to my attempts to contact him through PM or email.
...anyone else have any unfinished trades with Bman?

All right you have a point. We'll give your way a try first.:D
savageamusement 04-01-2008, 03:41 PM But see, that is the exact point.
While the original poster of this hasn't gotten ANY reply-
he was contacting Joker, trying to set up a new trade.
So it isn't as if there is a family emergency, or he wasn't able TO reply- as evident by the fact he is willing writing OTHERS.
That was part of my frustration with our trade not getting resolved- is I saw him posting here, attempting new trades, but I hadn't gotten my end in complete format.
And it was due to his length of time he has traded, and lack of other public complaints, I washed our problem up to, well it can happen to any trader- and no public bad feedback was made.
Now, you have a similar situation?
In my opinion, you don't CHOOSE when to be a good trader- you are or you aren't.
And if a rare occurance happens, and things go badly which they do- ok- if its a rare occurance. But the situation that happened with me, is very repetative, to whats going on with pielpr.
And since another situation presented itself, that is why i spoke up- to say it isn't a single incident at this point.
And hopefully he will read this and reply- and resolve things.
however, the email address he contacted me on previously- I wrote, to discuss things- is no longer active, and bounced back to me twice.
The fact is to me simple-
Pilepr has been trying to contact him- he hasnt' gotten a reply.
The moderator here, tried to contact him (assuming PM) no reply-correct?
And yet he contacted Joker to try a new trade.
So he IS around.
And the other issue, I can't ignore is- pilepr was told his pacakge was lost- and no tracking number was given.
Okay, I was told my package was lost- and no tracking number was given.
Is he just the unluckiest guy in the world? That he lost both tracking numbers and BOTH packages?
I mean yeah packages go missing, but 2 in 2 trades?
I hate to speak of him 3rd party- but since he hasn't replied, his email I had isn't working- not much I can do but speculate publically (shrug)
i have replied to the people that matters in this particular situation. The trade that was set up with Joker was way be fore this ever occured. I am working on correcting the situation as we speak. I have contacted the moderater and kept him informed as well.
robyrob 04-02-2008, 03:14 PM Bman did reply to me
however... I think we are going to need to have some tracking numbers posted here to resolve this.
i will post tracking numbers privatley to the ones that this matter concerns. I understand that everyone has a right to post there thoughts and concerns but some of these people that have commented on this situation I have never heard of. Therefore i feel that i shouldn't have to prove nothing to them. I will hope that the person who is involved in this situation will respond to this thread when the package arrives. THANK YOU STEPH for your encouraging words and comments!!!
robyrob 04-10-2008, 06:20 PM according to the Tracking number Bman gave me:
"We attempted to deliver your item at 4:11 PM on April 9, 2008 in SAN SEBASTIAN, PR 00685 and a notice was left. It can be redelivered or picked up at the Post Office."
Atlas 04-11-2008, 07:26 AM I can put up with slow delivery. I can even put up some shoddy material but I absolutley hate when the person NEVER returns a PM. Then they get upset that you start questioning them!!
Open communication will make all trades better even if they go bad.
robyrob 04-11-2008, 11:39 PM pielpr has confirmed to me that he has received his dvd's from Bman.
Captspiffy 05-01-2009, 06:50 PM enuff said, B-man has shown his true colors
and has been suspended.

savageamusement 05-02-2009, 05:59 PM Unfortunately this is the kind of thing that frustrates some new traders into leaving, or quitting-
Or older traders into becoming more selective, which can lead to an unfair result to GOOD new traders.
Bman isn't a new trader, by any degree- and the expectation of sending when you say, shouldn't be too high an expectation.
If you find yourself in a delay here or there due to life, sure its gonna happen. If you have a stack of people, who have experienced this delay due to your situations- you need to reevaluate your habits and your obligations.
In the very least, send first- so they aren't waiting on you- and receive your items after- if you are the one with constant delays you should mind waiting yourself.
Captspiffy 05-23-2009, 10:01 AM My trade with B-Man also it appears has gone without results. I am not entering 2 months and 1 week without anything but empty promises.
Yes, I sent first and quickly.
It seems he doesn't want to satisfy his commitments.
