Looks like we're getting to the point where the show wasn't quite that great anymore.

It was clear that the show ran its course. Had the potential of going down as a classic but like many shows they ran it into the ground.

I am hating these episodes this season. Too many episodes about Vera, Mel is looking more stupid than ever, Linda Lavin looks like she had some creative control, because her ass is always front and center in everything. She has got to be "in charge" Deep down, I'll bet she hated she got Polly Holliday removed from the show.

Ya think? Man, it was really hurtin' for some fresh ideas and how many times can Mel's chili be made fun of? How many times can we see Mel get some money only to have Alice tell him to give it back?

lol, also how many times can Mel sell the diner?
I normally love the Vera centered episodes, but I wasn't feeling the circus one last week.

And how many times can someone drive through the diner, a tree fall through the diner, etc. I'd hate to see poor Mel's insurance premiums.  This must be around the time when Dukes of Hazzard had "Robot P. Coltrane". Thank goodness this "trend" quickly faded!!
