My local station shows My Three Sons reruns each morning, which I tape and watch each evening, and in the open spaces of today's rerun's closing credits ("You Can't Go Home" from Season 10) there are small pictures of various Kellogg's products, such as Corn Flakes, Frosted Flakes, Pop Tarts, and a Variety Pack displayed. I also saw these products in another rerun a couple days ago. This is a nice little mistaken addition, and I have seen other such occurrences, such as P&G products displayed in Petticoat Junction closing credits. Has anyone else seen these in old reruns? I guess that these eps either never had the product descriptions stripped out or these particular reruns are using different masters from what the normal syndication runs had.

Yes, I wonder about that too. It seems like the removal of the ad items was missed occasionally.

For one or two of the episodes of an earlier season of My Three Sons, a Toni hair products box is pictured in the closing credits; most episodes from that and other seasons simply have a blank, square area were the advertising originally appeared (matching the blue background).

At other times, M3S was sponsored by Hunt's (tomato products); have you seen the ketchup commercial with Steve, Chip, Ernie, and Charley? I've seen it in b/w, but it was produced in the color era. Other sponsors were the big auto manufacturers.

I too have seen the P & G items in the closing Petticoat Junction credits, like Tide and Ivory soap. They're on the public domain episodes available on DVD, for example (Season 1).

The Monkees also had ads like that in the closing credits. They had Kelloggs products and Yardley Black Label products. I think most of those were missing from the syndicated versions. However, the official vhs release (which I have) has several episodes with these ads in the closing credits.

They show here in Indy too...seasons 6 thru 10. And a few of the season 10 episodes have the 'wrong' CC's, with the products shown. Locally they show the unedited versions, which is really nice... Now if only SOMEONE would show seasons 11 and 12!

One day in '76, I saw a rerun of "Hogan's Heroes" that showed a box of a short-lived Lever Brothers detergent called DRIVE.

You people are lucky to have stations that air shows made before 1993. Here in Lousyville, KY we get nothing but modern garbage. I bought a bootleg set of MTS though over a year ago so now I have the complete series on dvd. I got sick of waiting for CBS to decide to release it and see I was proven correct when they can't even release the entire first season in one set. At that rate it will be 12 to 24 years before they get the entire series on dvd. Some of the episodes on my dvd set have the original sponsor logos as well. Most all shows from back then had these.
