There are a number of eps in which Fred is asking for sweet potatoes. I used to think he was saying A CAN OF sweet potatoes. Later, I believed he was saying CANDIED sweet potatoes. What was he saying? Can of, or candied?

That's a good point you made. I never thought of it. I was always under the assumption he said, "A Can of".
