I e-mailed S'mores asking if it's true that the sales of this are poor, and it may impact the release of subsiquent seasons, and they said that, yes, that is true, unfortunately.
They said that, as a small company that release these older shows, since there's not much demand they have to rely on the support of fans. Sadly, distrobution of these shows has changed dramaticly in the last couple of years and chains that wouldn't hesitate to carry them, like Tower, either are no longer around or, like Suncoast, they've been taken over by other companies who are reluctent to carry them since theres such a "glut" of TV DVDs already. Borders and Walmart have said they won't carry them.
Also, it's expensive on these older shows to make the film-to-DVD transfer, design the artwork, etc.-the artwork for the 6th season case of "MRFD" alone cost $30,000!! And they DON'T want to distribute public domain copies of them.
But, they said you can conntact Borders, Walmart, etc. and express your dissatisfaction with them for not carrying the older shows. And, for these smaller "Mom and Pop" video stores, where it's not economally possible for them to carry them, ask them to special order them for you. Also, tell people about their company, and spread the word-they might be interested enough to buy them.
