I visited a site a few months ago and it compared the real handbook to a fake one. Does anyone happen to know what that site is by any chance? Thanks!

View Full Version : Real and False Hand Book ClassicTVGal 03-11-2008, 11:58 PM I visited a site a few months ago and it compared the real handbook to a fake one. Does anyone happen to know what that site is by any chance? Thanks! Mikado 03-12-2008, 12:13 AM Ive seen that too...but, i cant recall where...I use that book a lot (Mostly for the episode names) ;) Actually, I dont think one version is a "fake" i think it was a case of either a prototype or an earlier edition. ClassicTVGal 03-12-2008, 04:49 PM Oh, sorry. Well on the site, they were comparing the two and how they are different. But I was almost certain they were calling one a "fake". Oh well... I still would like to try and find the site. I'll continue looking. Mikado 03-12-2008, 05:20 PM I tried to find it for you last night, but, no luck ClassicTVGal 03-12-2008, 06:42 PM I tried to find it for you last night, but, no luck Aw, thank you. Mikado 03-12-2008, 06:51 PM Well, theres only a handful of people who post in the GS threads, we have to help each other :) ;) Carrie 03-13-2008, 10:47 AM Is this the one you're looking for? http://www.ilovegetsmart.com/debate.html Mikado 03-13-2008, 01:10 PM Wow, great work Carrie!!! :clap ClassicTVGal 03-13-2008, 02:56 PM Is this the one you're looking for? http://www.ilovegetsmart.com/debate.html Yes, that is the site Carrie, thank you. :) Mikado 03-13-2008, 03:06 PM Looking at the 2 side by side, my feeling is that the "fake" one is a mock-up that was created as a prototype, before the final design was "locked in", & sent to the news services (or w/e) for promotional purposes. Mikado 03-13-2008, 03:10 PM My reasoning being that it has many, though not all of the elements of the final design...things like the security band might have been last minute additions, for instance, and the different lettering may have been that they didnt have the proper font ready for use on the mock-up, so used a standard font they had in the print shop Carrie 03-13-2008, 03:55 PM Wow, great work Carrie!!! :clap Thanks! :D Yes, that is the site Carrie, thank you. :) You're welcome. :) |
