View Full Version : Pearl Harbor leaves Kate Beckinsale with bad memories
Brian Damage 03-11-2008, 09:50 PM "People still say to me, 'What was it like being in such a huge flop?' The amount of hatred and vitriol was surprising."

Dean Winchester 03-11-2008, 11:10 PM was Pearl Harbor really a flop simply because it wasn't exactly Titanic II (which I think was the intention when the filmmakers combined a real life tragedy with a fictional love story with an over the top theme song by a big named diva)? The movie did good enough, and it made Josh Hartnett a huge star. What did they really expect? Titanic was one of a kind, much like Star Wars or E.T.
Brian Damage 03-11-2008, 11:19 PM I wouldn't exactly say that Pearl Harbor made Josh Hartnett into a huge star. By BOX Office standards, the film was sort of a flop.
Ireneparalegal 03-11-2008, 11:25 PM If it left Kate with bad memories, what abt those poor fools who actually WATCHED THE FILM?  I am soooo glad I never wasted my time watching it.

I didn't pay to see it either. I did try to watch it on HBO and was thoroughly bored with it.

I had read and heard so many bad reviews, that was enough to keep me from ever watching it. It was like hearing the reviews for WATERWORLD all over again.

it seemed like the movie was huge when it came out, but it just didn't have Titanic type of legs. I remember for about six months after that movie came out, all you heard about was Josh Hartnett this, Josh Hartnett that, then he blew it by doing Hollywood Homicide and stuff like that. It did really good numbers at the box office, but I think everyone was holding it in comparison to what Titanic did, and Titanic was a one of a kind success that will never be duplicated in the same way
We're not too thirlled with Underworld either Kate.
