I believe he just walked out of the Lebanon Correctional Facility in Lebanon, OH where he was incarcerated. I remember the case being shown on Lifetime many times. Was he ever re-captured? Having grown up in the Dayton, OH area, this case always stood out in my mind.

Could it be John James Irwin? I don't remember where he was from but I believe he was accused of those type crimes.

The Carl Alfred Eder case, maybe?

The details sound familiar but I can't for the life of me remember where he was incarcerated.
