Cory In The House is better than That's So Raven.
How about you?

pretty much the only one I can think of

I prefered "ALL IN THE FAMILY" over all it's spinoffs: "GOOD TIMES, "MAUDE", "THE JEFFERSONS", GLORIA", "ARCHIE BUNKERS PLACE"

Facts Of Life for sure

As an adult, Laverne And Shirley is also far less cringeworthy than Happy Days IMO

Facts of Life was WAY better than Diff'rent Strokes. It's no contest when you compare the two today.

I also liked The Jeffersons slightly more than All in the Family. Both were great shows, but The Jeffersons holds up better today than All in the Family.

Another one that's close is Soap and Benson, but I think Benson has the slight edge over Soap, just because it wasn't so random like Soap was.

I also agree with Laverne & Shirley.

The Facts of Life - b/c their stories in their much later season were more relevant than Diff'rent Strokes's later seasons were.

Empty Nest - When I was a kid watching this show back-to-back w/ The Golden Girls, I actually preferred Empty Nest over TGG, b/c Empty Nest actually made me laugh more than TGG does at times. Plus, it had more depth and variety in their characters than TGG does at times.

The Jeffersons - I watched this more than I watched All in the Family b/c 1). like another poster said, it holds a little better than AitF.

Sanford (yes, the March 1980-81 version believe it or not!) - Despite the fat jokes and the fact that Demond Wilson was nowhere to be found at the time of this version, this was actually the 1st version of the Sanford family I watched before I even heard of Sanford and Son. And then watching this version and Sanford and Son, I thought that Sanford seemed a little more lighthearted and slightly less racy than w/ Sanford and Son was at times.

Benson - I thought that Soap got boring sometimes, so I watched Benson a little more than Soap.

The Pakers - I liked this show more than I liked Moesha. Plus, it took Moesha quite a long time to get off the ground, unlike this show.

Frasier- I liked this show way more than Cheers, the characters are more likeable and the show is simply funnier too, and even Bulldog was less annoying and funnier than Cliff Claven.

HAPPY DAYS. It was a sort of a spin-off from LOVE AMERICAN STYLE.

FACTS OF LIFE over DIFF'RENT STROKES.

In some ways I like LAVERNE AND SHIRLEY better than HAPPY DAYS--- mainly because it had more sight gags and stuff which I like. But for nostalgia and strength of the cast I liked HAPPY DAYS better. I like FACTS OF LIFE better than DIFF'RENT STROKES, but I still like that show too. FRASIER almost doesn't even seem like a CHEERS spin-off. They're two entirely different shows with one common link: Frasier. I love them both but I probably still like CHEERS just a little better.

Also, though All in the Family may be a better show, I much prefer The Jeffersons.

my 5 favorite spin-offs
1. Frasier Although Cheers was a good show, Frasier was much better.
2. Benson I've never seen Soap, but from what I've heard Benson was more family friendly.
3. Happy Days never saw Love, American Style
4. Lou Grant I just recently discovered The Mary Tyler Moore Show and Lou Grant. They're both good shows, but I like LG a little bit better. It was definitely different spinning off a drama from a comedy, but if anyone could do that it was Lou Grant.
5. The Andy Griffith Show the first spin-off in TV history I never saw the show it spun-off from (The Danny Thomas Show)

I don't know, I like many of the original shows better. Perfect Strangers, Happy Days, All in the Family, Diff'rent Strokes, Soap etc. I do like the spin-offs of those shows (Family Matters, The Jeffersons, Maude, Facts of Life, Benson...well never liked Laverne & Shirley and Mork & Mindy much) though...just not as much as the originals.

Maybe Good Times is slightly better than Maude, though.

Here's a few more I think are better, some listed already:

Jeffersons > AITF

Pinky And The Brain > Animaniacs (ok, it's animated, but still a sitcom)

Tonight Show > Broadway Open House (ok, not a sitcom, but....)

A Different World > Cosby Show

Hello Larry > Diff'rent Strokes

Absolutely Fabulous > French & Sanders

Star Trek TNG > Star Trek (sorry)

Hello Larry was a show that just crossed-over with Diff'rent Strokes, not a spinoff.

The whole cast of Diff'rent Strokes appeared about a third of the way through. And Diff'rent Strokes was definitely the more popular show in 1979. Doesn't that count as a spinoff, even if after the fact?

 Inspiration maybe. Or where we first saw the genius of Rod Serling, but definetly NOT a spinoff.

But I guess I can see where people get that. If Happy Days can spin-off an anthology show like Love, American Style, then that one lone TZ-ish episode of DP could be responsible for TZ.

Did I say I liked HAPPY DAYS over LOVE AMERICAN STYLE?

I also loved LAVERNE & SHIRLEY a little more than HAPPY DAYS. We didn't have to see Chachi enter the scene and hear that loud roar from the audience.

My biggest ones are already listed: FOL over DS, Moesha over The Parkers, Laverne & Shirley over Happy Days, Jeffersons over AITF

I find The Parkers to be much funnier than Moesha. FOL could change with time for the most part better than DS to me and is much funnier. Laverne & Shirley is still always funny to me, while Happy Days has about zero rewatchability for me. The Jeffersons is funnier to me than AITF.

Especially the first two seasons. Why did they have to go and make Loni Anderson the star and have her business owning the hospital and on top of that, her character couldn't run a hosptial worth a damn.

Shame that Nurses was cancelled after three seasons, b/c I also wanted to see David Rasche w/ a show that lasted more than 2 seasons, especially since I liked his scheming character on that show, since his character is almost a tiny throwback to his Sledge Hammer character.

NCIS > JAG
Star Trek: the Next Generation > Star Trek original
CSI: Cyber > the other CSIs -Whether this is a spin-off could be debatable. It has the CSI name but I don't think even had a backdoor pilot on the others.

I now like Lou Grant a lot more than Mary Tyler Moore. Unfortunately won't be able to see it much since it's been discontinued on DVD. :( I would love to have Antenna TV or one of the Encore stations pick up Lou Grant.

I'd rate Diff'rent Stroke and The Facts Of Life about the same really.
