I know that Alex, Steven, and Elyse dislike him, so he probably was a little, or at least a bad influence on Mallory. But it sometimes seems that he tries to be friendly towards Alex.

View Full Version : Was Nick really much of a jerk? needles1987 03-09-2008, 01:06 AM I know that Alex, Steven, and Elyse dislike him, so he probably was a little, or at least a bad influence on Mallory. He was out there, but deep down was a nice guy. needles1987 06-13-2008, 04:13 PM I don't think he's a jerk. Just stupid and socially inept. 70s show watcher 06-14-2008, 01:13 AM he wasant a jerk he just marched to his own drummer Family Ties Forever! 06-14-2008, 09:17 PM Nick was so annoying. I couldn't stand him. I agree that he was really stupid. I don't know what Mallory saw in him. needles1987 06-15-2008, 12:59 AM Mallory is just as stupid as Nick. So is Skippy. Yooch 06-15-2008, 01:40 AM I really don't think Nick was a jerk. He was out there, but deep down was a nice guy. This is exactly how I thought about him. I was never offended by him. I feel that the only connection he had with the Keaton's was that he liked Mallory. I don't think the other family members actually disliked him, only that their lifestyles were so incompatible with his, and his with theirs. No, I don't think he was a jerk at all. If he were a real jerk, I don't even think Mallory would have had anything to do with him--her supposed shallowness and apparent lack of intelligence notwithstanding. Mallory wasn't that dumb, anyway. Didn't she get a higher score than Alex once on an IQ test? I think the Keaton kids, although different from each other and with faults, had basic senses of right and wrong, or so it seemed to me. BuddyHinton 07-29-2008, 01:45 PM Nick was a total sweetheart. The reason a bulk of the Family disapproved was because since he was so "unconventional" he would certainly lead Mal down that road and they wanted more for her. I think they thought Nick was somewhat annoying but exagerrated that point for Mal's sake. Scoobiedoo30 07-29-2008, 01:50 PM I don't think Nike was a great guy catlover79 08-13-2008, 04:11 PM I don't think he's a jerk. Just stupid and socially inept. :yeahthat BuddyHinton 08-17-2008, 09:15 AM Nick does a lot of surprising things; like encouraging Mal to go to college in Season 4. He's surprisingly bashed on this board for some reason. EighteenMinutes 08-21-2008, 10:04 PM No way was Nick a jerk of any kind. He was just different than the Keaton mold. The Keatons seemed like the kind of family that had certain expectations of what their children would become and being paired up with a guy like Nick was the last thing they would have wanted. catlover79 11-03-2008, 07:35 PM Nick does a lot of surprising things; like encouraging Mal to go to college in Season 4. He's surprisingly bashed on this board for some reason. I didn't think Nick was that bad at all. Anna Karenina 11-19-2008, 12:58 PM Nick does a lot of surprising things; like encouraging Mal to go to college in Season 4. He's surprisingly bashed on this board for some reason. I agree. I think Nick was the sweetest character on the show. Family Ties Forever! 11-20-2008, 12:25 AM I disagree. I don't think he was the sweetest character. I don't know why some people like him so much. Mikado 11-20-2008, 04:25 PM Nick was so annoying. I couldn't stand him. I agree that he was really stupid. I don't know what Mallory saw in him. DITTO!!! catlover79 01-06-2009, 02:10 AM The character that has always reminded me of Nick was Cody on Step By Step. Can you imagine those two holding a conversation? "Yo!" "Duuuuuuuuuuuude!!" catlover79 05-01-2009, 07:44 PM Nick was so annoying. I couldn't stand him. I agree that he was really stupid. I don't know what Mallory saw in him. See, this is where Jenny and I disagree. I liked Nick, even though he wasn't the brightest bulb in the chandelier, he was sweet and kind. He loved kids and was respectful to everyone. I'm not saying Skippy wasn't any of those things, but I think I knew a few too many guys like him to really enjoy his character. I would've taken Nick over Skippy in a heartbeat. |
