I have a pet cockatiel (think 'Baretta's' bird Fred, but the much smaller version) who likes to watch I Love Lucy. She seems to like Lucy's voice, especially when Lucy is excited or imploring in tone.

Her favorite show, however, is "The Andy Griffith Show," because I always whistle along to the opening and closing theme song, and she sits on my shoulder and whistles (or sometimes screams) really loud, occasionally injecting a "hello" in there, too. It cracks me up. Ooh, I wuv her! :D

Does anyone else have a pet or pets that enjoy TV? Do tell.

LOL, that is so cute! My pets don't really do anything to special...my great dane will bark like crazy if he hears a dog on TV and heaven forbid any Nextel Cell commerical comes on and makes that "beep beep" sound... drives him insane! Our parrot will sometimes scream if there's guns being shot on TV and if we're laughing at something on TV he'll start laughing as well (yes he really laughs lol) He also says "hello" if there's a phone ringing (he does this with our phone as well... funny when he does it and the person on the other line starts talking ) Our maltese just gets ticked if the sounds wakes her up but she's a little more high maintenance ;)

When my tiger cat Lucy was a baby(now 9 yrs. old) first heard Lucy's name being called on I Love Lucy she responded by going up to our big screen TV and sniffing it. She has since learned the sound of Lucy's voice! Now we have Ethel, a half sister of Lucy (11 months old) who has also reconized when the show starts the theme song. No joke folks! They both also like hockey! They love following the puck!

Neither of my current pets pay any attention to the tv. But I used to have a cat named Bubha who liked to watch it sometimes. And my mothers little dog sometimes barks at the tv if there's a dog on it.

Yet again, Splain cracks me the hell up! :D

Ol' mister :sheep sez: "I'm protesting! There are no birdie (rubber duck notwithstanding) or fishie icons on these boards!"

p.s.: Hey, *Forever,* my bird also says "hello" when my phone rings. She does it when I come home from work a lot of the time, too!

i have a maltese too & he is the exact same way! unless you're waking him up to eat, he will definitely growl & let you know that he DIDN'T want to be disturbed. lol.
