According to TV Guide, both Lex Luthor and Lana Lang are leaving the rural township for greener pastures.

According to Mikey Ausiello, Michael Rosenbaum and Kristen Kruek have let producers know they are leaving after season 7.

They should just end it this season while they're on top. I can't imagine Smallville without Lex.

Rosenbaum has always said he was leaving after season 7. I guess he wasn't kidding.

How in the eff are you gonna have Smallville without Lex? I'm not a Lana fan anymore but that's a pretty important character to the show. I agree it should just end this season.

I could see without Lana.That way Clark will end up with Lois,but there's no way Smallville will be anything without Lex.They might as well kill Lana off,have Clark be with Lois and have something happen to Lex at the end of the season.

i think they can do it without Lex for the final season - Superman has tons of adversaries, even if Lex is the greatest of them.

I think the best thing to do would be to have something happen to Lex that makes Clark think he's gone (or just not a threat anymore) but let the viewers know that he could be back.

Of course, if they move Clark to Metropolis, then Lex wouldn't necessarily come with him, but he could still be part of Smallville in a lesser role.

I'm thinking that something is going to happen to Lionel very soon.
They've been amping up his involvement with the whole traveler/Veritos plotline, so it's only a matter of time before he's revealed as a villain or a savior to Clark.

Either way, I think Lionel is going bye bye, Lex will take over Luthorcorp once and for all which means he will leave Smallville for Metropolis to plot his revenge against Clark.

As for Lana, since Braniac left her in a coma, they can easily write her off.

They should end it after this season, there is no way it will be as good without Lana and Lex. I could see going a season without Lex, but he should be the main person Clark goes agianst in the final season.

So I guess Kristen Kreuk is pretty much done with Smallville as well, since she didn't appear in the most recent episode where Clark sees the world as if he never existed; she was mentioned in a news article.

To not bring her back even in a fantasy/parallel universe episode? I guess she is done with the show.
