I'm unfamiliar with the show in its later years and after viewing season openings on YouTube I saw people whom I didn't recognize. Can you please just give me a brief background on these characters and how they came on the show?
Andy Stickle - Mackenzie Astin
George Burnett - George Clooney
Kelly Affinado - Pamela Adlon

Let's See...
Kelly Affinado was first seen in the episode "The Halloween Show" disguised as Annie. She was just known as a young con artist, but she was properly introduced on the episode "Small but Dangerous" as a young wannabe punk who just wanted some attention from Mrs. G and the girls. She was on the show for a very short time in the 1983-1984 season: 7episodes. Her last episode was "Seems like Old Times" when she is pushed out the door.
Andy Moffett (not Stickle) first came on FOL in "Me and Eleanor" which was on January 2, 1985, not January 16th like the E! True Hollywood Story stated. He walked in the shop looking for a job as an errand boy and earned it by the end of the episode. And there he remained until the end of the show.
George Burnett first came on the show in the episode, "Into the Frying Pan". Apparently, his newpaper from Kuwait was addressed to the house and the girls kept getting it there. He came on to not only get his paper, but also to help them get their shop rebuilt after the fire. He was there for two seasons, his last episode being "A Star is Torn" when he tours with Cinnamon.

you don't remember Andy at all? Kelly and George came and went pretty fast so if you weren't an avid watcher, you might not remember them, but Andy was pretty solid and vital for the show in it's latter seasons

I never understood why she had opening credits. Makes you wonder if the writers were hoping to make her a "new Jo" but the character didn't test as well as they hoped, so they phased her out. I always thought it was odd that she earned opening credits. Oddly enough, she played almost exactly the same character on The Jeffersons after she left FOL. She's done well for herself as an adult tho, she's the voice of the son on King Of The Hill.

I remembered Andy As I remembered seeing this little kid on the show in the bakery. I didn't remember who he was exactly and how he came to be on the show.

I was sure Kelly's Halloween episode came after she was introduced as the "gang" member threatening the store and the girls.
