As I've made clear in the past, I normally don't pay a whole lot of attention to the "lost love" stories on UM, but I recently came across one on a tape that I do not recall seeing on Lifetime.

The story was about a man named Frank Acs (pronounced like "ax") who was searching for his biological sister whom he had not seen since the thirties. Acs born in Budapest in 1926. His mother died of an infection days after he was born. His father was unable to care for Frank and his older sister, so he gave Frank to his parents, and the sister went to live with other relatives (the father's brother possibly, I can't recall). Anyhow, since this split occurred shortly after Frank's birth, he grew up not knowing he had a sister. Several years later when Frank was a teenager, he was introduced to a cousin Vicki at a family dinner. Vicki was just a few years older than Frank. In actuality, Vicki was the missing sister, but no one in the family thought it appropriate to tell Frank or Vicki at the time. Around this time WWII began and Vicki's family fled to America. Frank never saw her again. Frank's grandparents died, and his father was killed by the Gestapo. Frank himself served in the army and eventually made it back to the U.S. Years later, after the death of his wife in 1984, Frank began researching his past, and discovered the truth about his cousin/sister. He is now looking for her, as she is his last living biological relative.

Does anyone remember this one, or know of an update?

I'm torn on the issue of whether or not this one made it to Lifetime. Certain elements seem familiar to me. For those who don't know, it was a "Lost Love" segment, and Frank was looking for his sister Vicki, whom he had lost contact with in the aftermath of WWII, as I believe his family lived in one of the areas occupied by Nazis so he and his family had to go into hiding. Was there ever an update?

I JUST saw this one for the first time. I'm also really curious to know if there was an update. I really hope so!

Could this be Frank? Obituary for Ferenc "Frank" Acs (https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/london-on/ferenc-frank-acs-7477148)

The year and location of birth is right, along with the spelling of his last name. It also mentions that he was preceded in death by his wife in 1985. However, there is no mention of a sister.

I remember that.
Vicki moved to the States during the war and Franc stayed in Hungary.
I believe Vicki never knew Franc was her brother, only a cousin she saw once. So, she never spent a lot of time thinking about him. She married, and lived under another name, ex: Vicki Smith, maybe she never had any children an died before the segment was aired.

So that's the real explanation why nobody came out telling where she was.

Maybe some people in Hungary knew those cousins/brother and sister but UM segment aired in early 90s , eastern bloc was still another land, internet wasn't there to provide info... no facebook, etc.. I believe the people who probably knew those family secrets (maids, grandmas, etc...) passed away around that time. That's the problem.
