Jude The Obscure 03-04-2008, 04:07 PM I think many people assume it is a spinoff. Fact is, HL was independently conceived and began airing not too long after DS garnered some much needed ratings for struggling NBC. So the suits decided, hey, let's use DS to bolster the ratings and interest in another sitcom, in an attempt to make HL another hit. It worked temporarily, but could not sustain. I'm not sure if the reason was a timeslot change or the other changes to HL. TVFactFan 03-04-2008, 07:39 PM I think many people assume it is a spinoff. Maybe NBC should have aired both Diffrent Strokes and Hello Larry back to back Jude The Obscure 03-05-2008, 11:25 PM I tried watching a HELLO LARRY ep and it was just not that good of a show. Maybe NBC should have aired both Diffrent Strokes and Hello Larry back to back FWIW, I did watch HL in it's original primetime run. Maybe because I had a thing for Kim Richards  I don't recall the timeslots it had during its brief two season run--you have that info? I do know NBC reran HL in late nights as part of the Sunday Late Movie (but my NBC station didn't carry that). BTW, that theme song is just out and out HORRIBLE!! :barf: TVFactFan 03-05-2008, 11:39 PM FWIW, I did watch HL in it's original primetime run.
