I always loved the "Hello Larry" crossovers.

and from watching the credits, you can tell part 1 was aired as DS and part 2 was originally a HL episode. (so if HL ever saw syndication or DVD, I don't think this 2 parter would be included)

So it sounds like a simlar situation with Happy Days and Laverne Shirley, in 1979 Part 1 of Shotgun Wedding was aired as a Happy Days episode and Part 2 was aired as a Laverne and Shirley episode

For me it was finally nice seeing Joanna Gleason act. I love her after seeing her on game show reruns

Exactly, Sol! But in this case, since HL isn't in syndication, both eppys air as DS episodes. I always hate coming across that episode of HD in syndication because you know you will NEVER see part 2! Since stations rarely carry both HD and L&S, much less run the episodes in tandem!

There was a syndication ending created for that Happy Days ep. So when it aired on TV LAND, if you never saw HD before you would never know it was a two part episode

Remeber richie ran back scared because he thought something would happen to fonzie? Well in the syndicated version when Richie runs back to tell his dad Fonzie is in trouble, Fonzie somehow is already THERE and No longer in danger-lol

Of course in the ABC version Richie is seen RUNNING to get help and then it goes Off

You know what I did not like about the credits? That they used the 1985 style and format for those credits towards the end of that last scene when trying to pass off HL as a DS epsiode. During the last season of DS, the font for the credits change and that exact font was used during the crossover episode. Its a little thing but a big thing.

Wonder why? TNN never did that and I have the Tapes to prove it-lol Well atleast I used to-lol

Part 2 of what? what aired today was the second DS/HL crossover--the one involving Larry coming to New York to try out as a talk show host. It says "to be continued" at the end. Does an online guide show Monday's episodes as not being part 2?

03-07-2008, 07:29 PM
Yes, the tv guide says it won't be aired...it will be Mrs Garret's romance. BET doesn't have it up yet so maybe they will change it over the weekend...lets hope so. That would suck to not get part 2.

CW did that with Family ties....they kept showing part 1 of a two parter but never showed part 2....in two cycles of the show.

Oh well.

It would be ******** to air part one and not part 2. Atleast in the case of Happy Days there was a syndicated ending since Part 2 was a Laverne and Shirley episode

I just went over to TV Guide online and it does not have part 2 listed. That is stupid. Why air just part 1?? Especially since the last crossover is only a few episodes away.

On the second season DVD, there are two HELLO, LARRY crossovers. The one you're all talking about is "Feudin' and Fussin'" and that is a 2-parter although on the DVD they condense it into one episode that is 45 minutes long. The other one is "Thanksgiving Crossover," another two-parter that is condensed into one episode on the DVD, also 45 minutes long.

There's also "The Trip"

Feudin and Fussin part 2 must have aired......because Mrs. Garrett's romance was the second episode today (and not the first like the TV Guide had it). I got up late and missed the 8am showing.

Heck even BET has it wrong--saying it was Mrs. G's romance followed by The Adoption (part 1) and that is not what aired this morning--HOW LAME IS THAT??

I gave BET so much credit for the nice pickups but they are not airing the shows right, they are screwing up THEA too on saturdays

Looks like they fixed it and now the Dog episode is airing Monday instead of Friday which would account for the 2nd part of the Hello Larry Episode.

It's a lot more watchable than

Mork and Mindy
Barney Miller
Cheers
Ropers
Roseanne

I wouldn't say horrible, just awfully mediocre. The potential was there, but sadly never met. The theme song however is one of the worst themes ever for a sitcom!

I actually enjoy that! It's funnier than the actual show! :D

The WORST theme I can remember is for the shortlived Michael Keaton-Jim Belushi sitcom "Working Stiffs"--DRECK DRECK DRECK!!

I agree with you buddy, it was ******** that no one thought of it. Maybe you and I can write fanfics on what it would have been like if the Alder's and even the four main Facts of Life girls were there.
