The Punky days are over, but it would have been nice to see at least 1 or 2 more seasons of the show. All the episodes were memorable in some way. I think the show could have lasted for the 1988-1989 and 1989-1990 seasons, but then it would not last past that point, as the 80s would be over. Punky was totally 80s all the way.

If there was a 5th season, we would have seen Brandon's dog wife have puppies, more topics on growing up/maturity and possibly even sexual encounters. Punky was in like 7th or 8th grade when the show ended, right? We could have seen her, Cheeri and Margeaux in high school.

I think the show ended too soon, or had a really bad last episode. I just watched the last show for the first time today, and the final episode was totally dumb. It's something I would have created just for fun, but never for television. It was all about Brandon getting married, and flashbacks galore, especially of him in outfits and chewing on the peanut butter on bread several times. It was one of the worst montages ever. Funny, but for a last episode, they used too much time on the montages of Brandon. The last shot sort of lacked a lot. They did a few still shots of the wedding party, and it was kind of blurry. I guess the show ended in a way that it was still open to continue.

I liked how Punky still chose to be an astronaut in the last episode. She told Henry she couldn't just get into Photography. Now it's been what, 20 years already, right? If there ever will be a reunion, which I doubt, what could they do to bring back the cast?

For them to have a reunion, everyone would have to be up to it, and George Gaynes, who knows how he's doing. He's getting on in years, but it would be nice to include him. Mrs. Johnson has passed, so I'm sure they could work that into the reunion. But if they did one, they would have to include Alan, as he was an original. Punky would be an astronaut and go into space for the first time ever. She'd be a college professor, teaching Astromony at first, in flashbacks, but then she'd get in with NASA and she'd be living her dream finally. Margeaux would be rich as ever, and would be like Blair was in the Facts Of Life Reunion. I guess she'd be married and have a daughter who's just like her. Cheeri would be a single actress in Chicago, living in her Grandmother's old apartment. Alan would be a comedian who moved back to Chicago after college. The two fall in love again. Punky and one of her co-workers also falls in love and in the end they have a double wedding. That would be a good reunion. Henry would be retired, he'd have sold Punky's place, and still living in the same apartment. Only, it would be updated to fit todays generation, with some 80s memorabilia here and there. In the last few scenes, Punky's mother shows up when she reads about her engagement in the paper and after seeing news reports on her in space. A perfect ending.

It's like the show didn't end right in 1988. Punky never found her Mom. I think that would have made a good final episode, as a lot of people have talked about before. It would be been nice to end the show in a good way, Henry sad Punky is leaving with her mother, but Punky's Mom moving to Chicago to start over, after leaving her years ago. Henry decides to take her in and she becomes a partner in "Punky's Place", that way Punky wouldn't have to move and they can all work the establishment together. That would have been a nice ending to the show.
