Actor Jeff Conaway has credited his faith in Scientology for helping him to successfully kick his drug habit. The 57-year-old star, who battled addictions to cocaine, alcohol, and painkillers on the reality TV show "Celebrity Rehab," claims he was introduced to the controversial religion by his Grease co-star John Travolta - and his newfound belief has cured his need for the damaging substances.

He tells "Inside Edition," "I've been doing Scientology... My doctor was like, 'Holy cow', he says whatever you've been doing keep doing it because it's really working. John and I stayed friends but he couldn't watch me going down the tubes... He gave me a whole library of Scientology books and he's given me an auditor who comes almost every day."

  I am so glad to read this. After Jeff abandoned rehab with Dr. Drew I assumed he would just go back to drugs with his co-dependent girlfriend. I hope Scientology got Jeff to dump her too, if she hasn't gotten help for herself. She will drag him down.

I am not surprised John helped him. John tries to help his friends and I remember when Anna Nicole was going down the tubes, John was feeling helpless. He was the only celebrity I seen crying on television when Anna Nicole died.

While I really don't think much of Scientology, I think it's great that it's helping him kick his drug addiction. :) It was very hard to watch him on the first few episodes of Celeb Rehab. He was in such bad shape. :(
