Ummm, he wasn't originally in the cast from the get go, so I'll say that he was an addition.

Actually, I thought Dabnis was kinda cool! I would have liked to see more Dabnis, more Kenny (aka Bud!) and less Olivia. Jeez she was annoying and always dressed like a little clown!

I'm surprised a lot of people liked Dabnis.. I never really found him interesting and I thought Vanessa and Dabnis were a horrible couple. They seemed awkward together.

I wouldn't mind seeing the girl who played Theo's girlfriend more.. I forgot what her name was on the show but the actresses name is the late Michelle Thomas RIP. I would have liked to see more eps with her and Theo together. Explore their relationship more.

I'm really late but I'm just finding out they were dating in real life too.

I believe her name on the show was Justine Philips.

Now, now. I don't like Olivia either, but she didn't destroy the whole show.

Less Pam. For God's sake, less Pam!

Olivia I can deal with. It seems that most sitcoms add a youngster when times get tough....but Pam.....please.

These episodes were awful!

Wow!!! I totally think it's the other way around. I can deal with Pam. Heck, I even liked that character more than what I liked Vanessa. She was just more interesting. Olivia was just annoying and unneeded though.

I've been watching the season 8 DVD, and I really didn't know how little of the original cast were in those episodes. Even Bill Cosby and Phylicia Rashad were cut down a lot, to show more of Pam and her friends?

I would have liked to see less of Charmaine (easily the most annoying character on the show) and Olivia (for obvious reasons). I honestly can't think of any one I wanted more of. I got enough of most characters on the show-LOL

Dang Solomon, RU trying to say that "she ain't got no alibi"? LOL.

I don't think that she is.

When she was on ADW, she was somewhat annoying and had her nose in the air.

The only time the actress didn't play a ghetto role was when she was in Lean on Me. She was Ghetto in The Cosby Show, A Different World, and Malcolm and Eddie

Would you consider Nell Carter's character ghetto? What if the person were simply loud and sassy? I am just asking because what you might consider ghetto, others might not.

I consider people of any race to be ghetto if they talk a certain way that sounds uneducated, they don't have manners, they are lazy, they are rude and talk smack abt other people for no good reason, etc.

Well, Charmaine was from a ghetto, wasn't she? So why wouldn't she act "ghetto"?

Ireneparalegal

Not everyone who comes from a ghetto area behaves in a ghetto fashion. That is a generalized statement. Just like people who come from a good neighborhood don't always behave themselves or have good manners.

Everyone from the Ghetto is not Ghetto,

Example: Bill Cosby, he grew up in the projects and is he Ghetto?

BTW, the above post is something in general. I just realized that the post could look as though it is directed towards people on the board. I am not calling anybody a heifer! I am poking a little fun at the Maude being ghetto thing. Brie thanks! Your post had me laughing to the point, that I had to post that pic with Maude.

Being sassy does not necessarily put you under ghetto category.

I actually got a laugh out of the picture. I was trying to prove a point that Solomon is calling just about everyone in Television past and present Ghetto. His definition of "ghetto" is not a very good one.

His definition is very generalized. You can say that just abt everyone is ghetto if you go by that definition.

This show wasn't as good when Olivia, Pam & her friends came into the picture. I liked the original family.

I wanted more of Denise.

I didn't care for Dabnis, although I loved his personality on the show.
