These arent necessarily my all time faves (For instance, I love M*A*S*H but I think many sitcoms were funnier, but then M*A*S*H was never meant to be "pure comedy"), but they are the FUNNIEST sitcoms IMHO

THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW (just the early ones, though)

1. Three's Company . . . this was by far the funniest sitcom I've ever seen. It's not my favorite, but it definitely has made me laugh the most.

2. Roseanne . . . another great example of always staying funny. I never got bored watching this show.

3. Murphy Brown . . . it was Candice's humor that made it funny for me, but the jokes and acting also contributed a great deal.

4. Drew Carey Show . . . whether it was the jokes, the plots, the stories, or the acting, this show was always funny and never failed to make me laugh at least once in every episode.

5. Mad About You . . . a great show all around. Great acting, great writing, great jokes, great chemistry, and one of my favorite shows.

The last two aren't traditional sitcoms in the laugh-track sense, but as half-hour-comedies, I figured they were close enough...

Strangely enough, my *favorite* sitcom is probably Laverne & Shirley, but I wouldn't rank it as the top-5-funniest (although it's pretty close, in my mind).
