Barry WIlliam's book Growing up Brady is often criticized for its many mistakes, but the much more revered book Bradymania contains its share of errors as well.

The following observations are based on the 1995 edition.

#1 On page 178 There is a picure of Hope Sherwood with a large frog on her head which is obviously from #89 Greg gets grounded yet the caption underneath reads:

Hope Sherwood, daughter of producer Sherwood Schwartz, proves that relatives get no special treatment in episode #65, "The Big Bet"

#2 On page 56 it is stated that in Jan's Aunt Jenny "Jan finds an old picture of her Aunt Jenny at her age", actually , despite the title of this episode, Jenny was CAROL'S Aunt which makes her Jan's great aunt.

#3 On page 56 it is stated that in Cindy Brady, Lady when Bobby hires Tommy to pretend to be Cindy's secret admirer

" Cindy catches on after other family members get the same idea..."

Though Bobby got caught and was told by Mike and Carol to tell Cindy the truth, nobody else tried a similar stunt and Cindy never did catch on. Was Elizabeth Moran getting this episode mixed up with another one?

#4 On page 224, in reference to the then upcoming Brady Bunch movie it states

The Bradys' neighbors, the Dittmeyers, (played by Michael McKeen and Jean Smart), who were never once seen in five seasons of the actual show ...

Not so! in Coming Out Party Mr. Dittmeyer is briefly seen.

It is not a book worth getting then if it is full of errors.

I had that book, The Brady Bunch Book, Growing Up Brady and even that cheapo St Martin Press Brady Bunch compilation. I eventually sold them all.

It is not a book worth getting then if it is full of errors.

People often criticize Growing up Brady because of all its errors and I wanted to point out that there were a lot of mistakes in the much more revered Bradymania.

In both cases a more thorough review of the episodes in question would have resulted in fewer mistakes. It's hard to believe that anyone would write an episode guide without first watching each episode before writing its description, yet that seems be be the case with most episode guides.

I have the Bradymania book - never noticed the errors before. It has some great pictures, though.
