considering 29th of february comes only once every 4 years, i wonder about the people who have birthdays on their birth date and how we would work out their ages. there are 28 days in february and so people born between the 1st until the 28- like myself- celebrate our birthdays every year in the advent calendar

Henry "Pocket Rocket" Richard (Younger brother of hockey legend Maurice Richard) turns 18 today (Though he was actually born in 1936), he was a member of 11 Stanley cup winning teams in Montreal between 1955-1975 (The all time record for championships as an NHL player).

In a leap year, it was traditional that a girl could ask a boy out, or a woman could propose (Whilst these things would have been considered improper, in non-leap years)

It's Ja Rule's b-day? No wonder my daughter is going to see him in Los Angeles tonight to perform.

I know a few people with leap year b-days. I dont really know when they celebrate their b-day, but wouldn't March 1st be the logical day to celebrate it? Because if you celebrate it Feb. 28 it would be a day too soon?

I was born in 1972, yet I did not know a soul born on February 29 in my graduating class. At school in second grade I seem to remember a birthday party for someone celebrating their "eleventh" birthday that day in 1980 (actually, that 11-year old was pretty well seasoned, having been born in 1936), most likely a faculty member. Over the years, however, I have learned that February 29 is the birth date of former baseball player Bill Long (b. 1960 IIRC), current U. S. Representative Bart Stupak from Michigan (b. 1952; his district includes the Upper Peninsula), and singer Gretchen Christopher from the Fleetwoods (b. 1940).
