PENGUIN TEA TIMER
Making tea, though easy to do, is also time consuming. Once you pour the hot water into the cup, you must patiently hover over it, waiting for the tea to steep. Well, the Penguin Tea Timer happily does the waiting for you.
Place your tea cup under the beak and set it to the desired time. As you turn the timer dial, the beak lowers the tea into the hot water. When time is up, a bell sounds and the penguin automatically lifts his beak, removing the tea bag from the water.

swedeace 02-28-2008, 06:02 PM Ingenious inventions, I would say!
I have seen those giant remotes before. Has anyone seen any other objects around?
Ireneparalegal 02-28-2008, 06:07 PM My daughter's bought my boyfriend that huge remote control. He is always misplacing the one in the living room, not only that, he has fingers that are kinda large and he ends up pressing two buttons at a time sometimes, which is frustrating for him. But guess what? The remote didn't work for our cable box. It didn't list the brand, so we couldn't enter the code. It does say this though, "If you don't find your brand name on our list, then just keep clicking the CABLE button AT LEAST 300 TIMES before you see the red light double click." WTH????? I don't think so, I am not going to sit there and press and count to 300.

Oh, wow....That's...erm...insane!   300 times??? I don't think so....
Ireneparalegal 02-28-2008, 06:10 PM As for that toilet seat lifter, all I can say is, unless the man has great aim, that would just be another thing to clean in the bathroom.
Ireneparalegal 02-28-2008, 06:11 PM I love the coffee cup/cookie holder.

Courtnee 02-28-2008, 06:18 PM I don't get that coffee cup, how does it work?
swedeace 02-28-2008, 06:24 PM I don't get that coffee cup, how does it work?
There's a hole near the bottom of the cup, and it has a removable stopper (the key). Think of the inflatable kiddie pool theory. When that stopper is covering the hole, all the liquid is kept in the cup. Once that stopper/key is removed, the liquid drips out of the cup leaving the liquid to spill out. Cool idea, eh? Helps from unwanted hands stealing your cup.
Those car slippers would freak my cat out! (lol!)
Ireneparalegal 02-28-2008, 07:41 PM Those car slippers would freak my cat out! (lol!)
 I can imagine.
Amazing stuff!

This thread is cracking me up.
Mikado 02-28-2008, 08:04 PM I could deffinately USE the "dayclock" ; I'm always off about what day it is!
Ireneparalegal 02-28-2008, 08:11 PM Imagine when the battery runs out of the DAY CLOCK and you forget to change the battery?
Mikado 02-28-2008, 08:11 PM The inventions on this page reminded me of the Japanese Art of the Chindogu
(Which translates loosely as "UNUSELESS INVENTIONS").....What this means is, inventions that solve a particular problem, but, make so many others that no one would really bother with them.
For instance:
Do you have a cold? Hate looking around your purse for an unused tissue? Well, no more, its the patented Chindogu tissue dispenser!
Yes, no more looking for Kleenex, unfortunately, you also wind up looking like a fool! (As i said, the original problem is solved, but, the NEW problem is WORSE )
Mikado 02-28-2008, 08:21 PM The problem:
You need to bathe , but, you HATE water?
The solution:
The Chindogu brand waterproof coveralls bathing suit, now people who are hydrophobic can feel the warm, soothing calming effect of a warm bath, without actually having to get wet. (Hurray!!!)
The NEW problem:
Unfortunately, the downside is, you can't actually use the soap or water to clean yourself, furthermore , the plastic suit will make you sweat profusely and you wind up even dirtier and smellier than when you entered the bath!
Mikado 02-28-2008, 08:27 PM The problem:
Tired of spending all that money on batteries for your flashlights?
The solution:
The Chindogu SOLAR CELL FLASHLIGHT......no more batteries needed for this flash light, the light stays on as long as you keep it in the sun, or by any good source of light!
The NEW problem:
There's no solar collector attached, so, as soon as it gets dark, the light goes out!
Mikado 02-28-2008, 08:31 PM Mona, I hope you dont mind me posting these on your thread, I thought of maybe making a "sister" thread to this one, but, this seems to go well with your inventions......even though these will never go on sale!
I have more of them to post later :)
Ireneparalegal 02-28-2008, 08:55 PM Mikey you kill me...:brent
Mikado 02-28-2008, 09:03 PM Mikey you kill me...:brent
Well, i can't take much of the credit, I got these straight from the Chindogu books...I just edited the captions a bit :)
swedeace 02-28-2008, 09:39 PM Mona, I hope you dont mind me posting these on your thread, I thought of maybe making a "sister" thread to this one, but, this seems to go well with your inventions......even though these will never go on sale!
I have more of them to post later :)
Oh, no problem, Mikey! Actually, this is a thread for any kinds of inventions that make life worse/better....funny or serious... Post more!

dawsongirl 02-29-2008, 12:08 AM lol...see-thru toaster. I wish I knew why that was remotely necessary.
Ireneparalegal 02-29-2008, 12:35 AM lol...see-thru toaster. I wish I knew why that was remotely necessary.
You have to be a moron if you can't toast "toast" without burning it. Or lazy.
Mikado 02-29-2008, 12:37 AM The problem:
Young people have spent too much time listening to rock music and lose their hearing, unfortunately, hearing aids are very expensive and use up valuable batteries better used in an Ipod......what's a kid on a budget to DO?
The solution:
The stainless steel cakebowl stereophonic hearing aids, never miss another call, or any OTHER noise up to 3 miles away; and, they are 200% cheaper than the cheapest electronic hearing aid.
The NEW problem:
WHAT young person wants to go around looking like they have an unnatural attachment to Tupperware?
Ireneparalegal 02-29-2008, 12:41 AM :brent  ^^^^^^^^^^^
I read the post first and then I slowly scroll down to see the pic.
Mikado 02-29-2008, 12:44 AM ^^^ I wrote that caption %100.....the one in the book was kinda dull :p ^^^
dawsongirl 02-29-2008, 12:45 AM I think that pig corn holder is cute.
Ireneparalegal 02-29-2008, 12:47 AM ^^^ I wrote that caption %100.....the one in the book was kinda dull :p ^^^
Your writing skills are the bomb!!!!:D (that means GREAT) ;)
Mikado 02-29-2008, 01:00 AM Thx Irene :) (I try)
Mikado 02-29-2008, 04:55 AM The problem:
What is a poor college student to DO? Sure you love to eat RAMEN soup, but, ramen can be watery and it loves to splash all over your new collar and get in your hair; causing embarrassment and social clumsiness.
The solution:
Fortunately, once again, Chindogu inc. comes to your rescue with the RAMEN SPLASH GUARD (Comes in red, green and pink for "girly girls" (shown here) ); made of a new wonder foam thats light AND repels ALL types of soup!
The NEW problem:
Unless you want to sit to dinner, looking as if you were about to be the "daisy" in a Kindergarten play, you may want to exchange your ramen for a tuna sandwich!
Mikado 02-29-2008, 05:12 AM For a deffinition of Chindogu, see page 2, post #17
The problem:
You've just been blessed with a new baby and you say to yourself: "Ok, it's cute, but......WHAT CAN IT DO?"
The solution:
Tired of having that little freeloader crawling around the house? Now , thx to Chindogu inc. you can finally make use of your baby and his natural ability to crawl; with the Chindogu brand BABY MOPS! Just dress little Satoshi or Kasumi in the handy unisex sleeper and let them GO; your floors will never be cleaner! Not only is the baby FINALLY earning it's keep, but, is also learning a fine work ethic, to boot!
The NEW problem:
Child welfare agencies may not appreciate Baby Mops as much as you do; not to mention that baby will now need twice as many baths!
(This is my all-time favorite Chindogu! )
swedeace 02-29-2008, 12:03 PM :brent, Mikey!

The Coffee Cup you can put your cookies in...It's a good invention, but how do you drink out of the thing without cookies falling out? I guess you can turn it around, but i know i'd forget every time i'd take a sip so that can get kinda messy. But it is a good idea. As for the coffee cup theft lock, who would steal anyone's coffee cup? Super gross especially if this is to be used at work or something. All i know is I have my own coffee thermos and nobody has ever tried to steal it.
The remote though, that has got to be a very hot seller because i bet 99% of people spend time searching for remotes. The large one is perfect. Or they could just make a button on the tv that pages the remote, just go up to the tv, press the button, the remote will sound and vibrate. Just like those cordless phones.
*ClassicPinUp* 02-29-2008, 04:57 PM Ha, we got my dad that Giant Remote for Christmas... goes with the big screen! :D
Ireneparalegal 02-29-2008, 05:12 PM Mikey...

I believe it's more designed to prevent coffee cup theft before there is actually liquid in the cup. If it's "the" coffee cup that you constantly use and hate the idea of looking into your cupboard to realize it's not there, that's what this lock would be useful for.
