View Full Version : Gary Busey to an 11 year old: "Lohan, Spears and Hilton are losers and idiots
Ireneparalegal 02-28-2008, 12:17 AM On our local news they had this "nice" video  of actor Gary Busey being interviewed by an 11 year old girl at a post Oscars party where he rants abt Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears and Paris Hilton...Hey Gary, who the hell are you to talk?

"You’re going to have to speak up, I can’t hear you,” said a confused Gary Busey.
Actor Gary Busey also says, “I don't understand you. What are you asking me?”
On the receiving end is 11-year-old Grace Stagg, who was covering a party at the Beverly Hills Hilton on Oscar® night when she posed this question to Busey: “What advice do you have for all those young celebrities who are getting in trouble with the law nowadays?”
The sixth grader from Los Angeles kept her poise and repeated her question three times. “I was just trying to act as professional as possible,” said the youngster.
After a third puzzled, “What…I don't understand the question" from Busey, Grace finally got through to the bewildered star.
Busey says that the troubled starlets aren’t celebrities, “they’re idiots, losers.”
Grace, who runs her own celebrity gossip blog, "Starz Life,” says, “By the end of the interview, I felt more like the adult.”
Busey's lawyer says that the actor had a hard time hearing the girl. As for putting his hand on the camera, it was an “excellent learning opportunity for an eleven-year-old.”
It wasn't the only red carpet embarrassment for Busey on Oscar® night. Outside the Kodak Theater he crashed Jennifer Garner's live interview on the E! Network with a kiss. Garner was left visibly shaken.
dawsongirl 02-28-2008, 12:22 AM Excellent learning opportunity??
Perhaps Dr. Drew should look into booking Busey for next season's stay on Celeb Rehab.
Mikado 02-28-2008, 12:26 AM Don't forget that he hit his head riding a motorcycle without a helmet
Ireneparalegal 02-28-2008, 12:33 AM Don't forget that he hit his head riding a motorcycle without a helmet
Yeah, remember that? Who was the idiot there? And he still maintains that helmets should NOT be forced upon motorcycle riders. Talk abt brain damage.
Dean Winchester 02-28-2008, 01:12 AM the biggest question, which nobody has asked. What was Gary Busey even doing at The Oscars?
Ireneparalegal 02-28-2008, 01:14 AM I asked that on the Oscar thread, but no one answered me. I am still wondering that myself.
ABlairican Pie 02-28-2008, 01:48 AM Yep, the actor whose main claim to fame is being Buddy Holly how many decades ago?? in one movie goes on to become a born again Christian who beats his wife, as far as reports go, and generally has a combative attitude while attending Promise Keepers. Spoken like a true Christian, Mr. Busey, about teen celebs. Be proud of yourself.
Max Whittaker 02-28-2008, 01:53 AM To be fair, it was loud in the area. He's not a young man and can't hear as well as he used to.
Although he could work on his people skill a little. And a course or two in common courtesy would not be uncalled for.

Gary Busey Tries To Explain His Berserk Oscars Weird-Out
February 26th, 2008 at 19:00 by Stuart Heritage
Chances are you've woken up after a night out in the past and thought "Oh God, what did I do last night?"
And if that stuff you did included slathering kisses up Jennifer Garner's neck and verbally assaulting Ryan Seacrest on live global TV on the Oscars red carpet, then you probably know how Gary Busey has been feeling this week.
Except, no, you really don't. Because Gary Busey phoned Ryan Seacrest's radio show yesterday to explain his bizarre Oscars antics. And it turns out he's like that all the time.
You're probably sick of the Oscars by now. We are. We already know everything that happened - No Country For Old Men won and nobody watched and Whoopi Goldberg got ignored and was sad. And that's about it. Or at least it would be, were it not for the gloriously unhinged red carpet shenanigans of Gary Busey.
You know. Gary Busey. From Lethal Weapon. And Predator 2. And Under Siege. Barely even counts as an actor. Went to the Oscars anyway. Doesn't matter. Because in one fell swoop on Sunday night Gary Busey provided the sole Oscars highlight by staggering up to Ryan Seacrest live on TV during the pre-show red carpet segment, shouting something along the lines of "You! Youuuuuuu!" and then wiping his damp mouth up and down the neck of a clearly disgusted Jennifer Garner before stumbling off again. It was perfect, and it's here.
Now, your average human being would probably wake up the next morning feeling slightly shamefaced about everything and desperate to either hide away in private forever or justify their actions. Not Gary Busey, though - he phoned up Ryan Seacrest on his radio show yesterday not to apologise but to try and explain what he was trying to babble at him at the Oscars in the most nonsensical way imaginable. E! Online quotes:
You are to me, when you're working, an innocent champion of honesty. Your heart has a way to embrace the truth in your delivery without looking like you are reading a script. Everything looks spontaneous. What spontaneity is—spontaneity comes from an invisible idea that is there before the creation began. And you have that naturally, so I just wanted to pay you a compliment. But I didn't know you were in the middle of an interview, I was just moving through there.
We'd love to transcribe the whole Gary Busey interview, in fact - it's full of talk about catching dreams and the etymology of the word 'fan' - but you can click the link below for edited highlights.
All in all, though, Gary Busey's bewildering behaviour has led us to believe that maybe he might be just the thing to turn around the Oscars' dwindling fortunes. Imagine an entire Oscars ceremony hosted by Gary Busey. It'd be awesome - he'd divide his time rambling on enthusiastically about nothing and dribbling wads of man saliva over whichever female he happened to be nearest to.
In fact, forget the Oscars. Gary Busey deserves his own VH1 reality TV show. That's how big he deserves to be.
snl 70s show fan 02-28-2008, 02:06 AM its a shame that jeff richards isant a cast member on saturday night live anymore his gary busey impression is topnotch and gary;s antics the other night would have been ripe for a great snl sketch this week
friendsfan77 02-28-2008, 02:28 AM Don't forget that he hit his head riding a motorcycle without a helmet
there's the explanation

SBTB Geek 02-28-2008, 04:35 PM I'm sure he meant well.
Ireneparalegal 02-28-2008, 04:40 PM Yep, the actor whose main claim to fame is being Buddy Holly how many decades ago?? in one movie goes on to become a born again Christian who beats his wife, as far as reports go, and generally has a combative attitude while attending Promise Keepers. Spoken like a true Christian, Mr. Busey, about teen celebs. Be proud of yourself.
He does have issues. He was on that Celebrity Weight Loss Challenge show and he was very mean on there.
As for him not being able to hear the questions, that is NOT THE ISSUE here. He heard the questions alright, but he put his hands on the camera and appeared to get very upset after the 11 year old girl asked him the question abt the young celebs. Gary having a hearing problem or the place being too loud had no bearing on his answer calling those 3 female celebrities liars, idiots and losers. Again another celeb with his own anger issues, addiction problem and he slams those who themselves have had (or still have ) that problem. He should get together with Natalie Cole and go bash all the people that are addicts.
AGAIN, WHY WAS GARY AT THE OSCARS?????????????
ilovethe80s 02-28-2008, 04:44 PM I agree I was eating dinner yesterday and Inside Edition was on in the living room and I heard this story and I felt bad for the eleven year old girl all she was doing was asking him a question and I don't think he had to act so rude to her if he didn't want to answer her then he shouldn't have. I don't know why he was at the Oscars either and I heard what he did to Jennifer Garner he really shouldn't of done that to her either.
Ireneparalegal 02-28-2008, 04:47 PM The 11 year old girl was asking Gary if he had any advice for the young celebs. She didn't ask him to give his opinions on them. I liked what the girl said after all that happened..."By the end of the interview, I felt like the adult."
ilovethe80s 02-28-2008, 04:58 PM Here's some information i found on the girl. I guess she interviewed Paris Hilton before.
About Grace Stagg
Stagg is a sixth grader at West Hollywood Elementary School and quite possibly Bleu's biggest fan. This is the 11-year-old's first year attending the school where she is involved with the drama team, serves as a student tutor and will soon be appearing in the school's upcoming musical production. In her spare time she loves to read and works as a freelance celebrity interviewer for Hollywood events. Stagg has interviewed dozens of celebrities such as Paris Hilton, Ashley Tisdale and the cast of Hairspray but has not yet met her idol, Corbin Bleu, until today. Her favorite sandwiches are peanut butter and jelly or tuna made with Sara Lee Soft & Smooth bread.

Ireneparalegal 02-28-2008, 05:01 PM ^^^^Good for her. Sounds like she will enter the entertainment field. I wish her the best.
An 80s Guy 02-28-2008, 11:11 PM Gary Busey was given a best actor Oscar in the 70s for "The Buddy Holly Story".I heard on "Chelsea Lately" that once you get an oscar you can go any year you want.
TripperFan 02-28-2008, 11:13 PM He calls them Losers?
Well - afterall HE would KNOW a loser first hand! ;)
Since they're passing legislation in California to protect celebs from the public, can't they make a law to protect the public from Gary Busey?
If not, then how about a straight jacket and one of those hand trucks they wheeled Hannibal Lecter around in "Silence Of The Lambs?"
;)

Gary Busey did not win an Oscar - he was nominated.
Jon Voight won for "Coming Home" that year.

He never won an Oscar. He was nominated but he didn't win.
So, the question still lingers WHY WAS GARY BUSEY THERE?
TripperFan 03-01-2008, 11:19 AM He never won an Oscar. He was nominated but he didn't win.
So, the question still lingers WHY WAS GARY BUSEY THERE?
Which leads me to my next question, "WHY IS GARY BUSEY ANYWHERE IN FRONT OF A CAMERA OTHER THAN IN A POLICE STATION" ?!?
Not only should he have worn a helmut while he was on the motorcycle, but from the looks of him since, he should have been wearing one all the time....and riding the "Special Bus".
waichingliu81 03-01-2008, 11:55 AM He never won an Oscar. He was nominated but he didn't win.

maybe because they had free food and drinks perhaps?
Ireneparalegal 03-01-2008, 04:20 PM Gary HAD to be invited to attend the Oscars. They had special passes with picture I.D.'s so that no one could just walk on the red carpet. As for the after parties, you have to be on the list or be invited, so again the question is WHO OR WHAT INVITED GARY of all people to be at the Oscars or the after parties?
Free food and drinks has nothing to do with it, if that were the case (and it is not) every celeb would be there to get some.

well unless, he knew somebody and he/she invited him along that is
TripperFan 03-01-2008, 10:02 PM well unless, he knew somebody and he/she invited him along that is
 How 'bout this scenario? They didn't invite him, but he beat them with a salami (or attacked them from behind like he did to Jennifer Garner) and took their ticket and credentials.
Hollow 03-01-2008, 11:43 PM well at least this is probably getting her site a lot of traffic.
Janice 04-12-2008, 04:57 PM Gary Busey was at the Oscars because he's a famous actor. Actors don't have to have a nomination to be invited. Who knew he'd act weird. He showed up with a buzz on, much like Joe Namath did that time when he wanted to make out with the lady interviewer on the football field. :smooch:
You don't have to be super successful to attend the Oscars. Say what you will about Gary Busey, the fact is that he's been working steady for almost 40 years. Not many actors can say that. It's his profession, and he takes what work he can get, so no need to laugh at some of his movies. I think he's a fantastic actor. I'm sorry to hear he's having substance abuse problems lately, and I'm hoping he overcomes it. He's always been a cool guy, on talk shows or other interviews. Drugs and/or alchohol change a person's personality, and usually not for the better. I'm more concerned with the jerks in this world who don't have a valid reason as to why they're that way.
Elizabeth Eden 04-13-2008, 04:59 AM he's right about parisite hilton, though. 'Star' she isn't.
