The Golden Voyage
What you need:
60 cans of Busch Light (or Busch. You choose)
A Golden Girls DVD
A pleasant attitude
The Rules and Regulations (all events or situations described below result in one drink unless otherwise noted)
1. Any time the front of the house is shown.
2. Blanch makes a sexual reference.
3. Blanch mentions "the south" (3 drinks)
4. Rose mentions "St. Olaf" (3 drinks)
5. Rose makes an excessively dumb comment. (group judgement call)
6. Dorothy uses sarcasm.
7. Any of the Girls mention any of their ex-husbands. I.E. Dorothy/Stan, Blanch/George (or Big Daddy), Sophia/Salvador, Rose/Charlie.
8. Sophia mentions "Sicily"
9. Sophia enters or exits a room. (keep an eye out for this one as it happens more than you want it to)
10. Sophia refers to Dorothy as "pussycat" (3 drinks)
11. Any reference to "Shady Pines" (3 drinks)
12. When sappy music is played in the background.
13. When the doorbell or phone rings.
14. Any time there is physical violence. (3 drinks)
15. Any time the words "gentleman caller" are used. (3 drinks)
16. Any time voices are raised.
17. *Deep Dick Dorothy Rule* Any time ANY of the girls have sex, or reference having sex DURING THE EPISODE. Referencing past sexual experiences do not count. They must bang someone out during the time period of the episode. (6 DRINKS!!)
18. Any mention of the word "Lanai". (6 DRINKS!!)
19. *Seasonal Rule* At one point during the episode, each player must call out one (1) seasonal drink. This can be at any time during the episode. The player merely exclaims "SEASONAL!" in a fit of ****in' joy, then all players take a drink. This works well during slow, or dry portions of the program. If a player fails to use, or uses more than one seasonal during a program, and gets called out on it, said player must FINISH THEIR BEER. Likewise, if someone "disrespects" a seasonal exclamation, and therefore disrespects the Golden Voyage Council (GVC), the player must FINISH THEIR BEER and feel the shame of being a dirty seasonal disrespecter.
20. The Girls share some cheesecake. (3 drinks)
21. Have fun wrestling each other and saying things you'll regret in the morning. That is if you're not dead.
Be aware of the dangers of Golden Voyage. If you are planning to play alone, be sure you alert someone you can trust, or a "sponsor". To preserve the safety and integrity of the game, it is best to have someone to talk to in case any emergencies or feelings of depression arise. Lock up all weapons and poisons (i.e. glass, silverware, wooden stakes, expired milk, hard candy, etc.) Also if playing alone, you are required five (5) seasonals. You're on the honor system, buddy. The girls are always watchin'.
As a high ranking official in the GVC, I of course understand that some episodes may be "dryer" than others. You may be fine with this because you ARE NOT a raging alcoholic. But some of us frown upon it. So feel free to create an "Episode Based Seasonal Rule" or an EBSR. This is just anything you are noticing that is happening frequently during a particular episode. For instance, any time there is a flashback during a clip show, or if it is the one with George Clooney you could create one involving him...etc. Just grab the Voyage by the horns and wrestle it to the floor. The world is yours for the taking. Dream big, everybody.
