If anyone else has ever noticed, the channels which tend to syndicate older and classic television programs have a progression...they'll start out with really early shows, stuff from the fifties and that. Then they get to adding some stuff from the sixties, and on and on, until they almost catch up to what's currently on...

Nick@Nite, for example, ran a lot of really old things when I was young...now, they're on to shows from the 90s! TV Land still runs stuff from the 50s (okay, mostly 'I Love Lucy') and 60s...of course there's 'Good Times' from the 70s, and you can catch 'Night Court' from the 80s and 'Wings' from the 90s in the wee hours...perhaps a days-of-the-week lineup would be in order...Monday is 50s, Tuesday is 60s, Wednesday is 70s, Thursday is 80s, and Friday would be 90s (ooo, maybe they could pick up 'Blossom' and stuff like that.) On weekends, TV Land could be Movie Land (which it occasionally is now in prime time.)

Even season one of Fol and the first couple of 'Diff'rent Strokes' could fit in on Thursdays...and I'd like to see those shows run on the same network, even as DS is now on BET.

I just know, that's how I'd run MY Classic TV network...

Okay...backing off now...

That would be an awesome idea.Nick@Nite is airing "George Lopez" now. It's a good show but it shouldn't be on anything that calls itself a "Modern classic" channel. It's 10 years away from being a "Modern Classic".

I think The Facts of Life could be on ION but who knows they have Mama's Family and that's an 80's show so I think it could work. I also agree with WE because i have seen Kate & Allie on there and that's an 80's show also.

Did I mention that if I ran a classic tv network, shows would air commercial free? It would be like the Disney Channel used to be, with commercials only between the shows, and then only for the other shows on the channel (although I don't know, I might get sucked in on the whole 'retromercial' phenomenon...)

Somehow, I think I'd need the backing of someone like Ted Turner for this idea...

I'm feeling your idea too

My best bet on FOLs next station is possibly BET, after they are tired of DS I think FOL could take its spot or the could knock of Malcom and Eddie, its on at least 3 hours of the day.

But in all honesty I really dont care what channel it is on as long as I get that channel

Back to Nick@Nite catching up to itself...just saw the headline that they've picked up 'Everybody Hates Chris,' a show which is still running, for fall 2009! And the show will probably still be running on the CW by then!
Why can't they devote, say, two nights a week to some shows that are more than two years gone?

I could see it on ION

I've been saying for years that Ted should have made a Turner Classic Television network like he with TCM for movies!!
