Mikado 03-01-2008, 12:14 AM thats so pedestrian ..but, i guess its ok :p Already Gone 03-01-2008, 12:19 AM Thank you. You're welcome. Good luck with your paper. :) Janice 03-01-2008, 12:36 AM thats so pedestrian ..but, i guess its ok :p Right. Over 2,300 soldiers killed in a sneak attack is pedestrian? To you maybe. It was a major event in American History, which brought the U.S. into WWII. Mikado 03-01-2008, 12:40 AM I meant it was pedestrian as a subject for a project/report, as in, a story that's been told over and over I was just trying to steer her towards lesser known stories in American history from the period.....I certainly wasnt trying to make light of the event, (pearl Harbour) itself. ...I can understand why you took it that way, out of context, Janice. No offense, just seemed an odd choice of wording to me. How about the JFK assassination? That shook the U.S. to its core, the entire world really. I don't think anything tore at the American psyche as much as that, and then 9/11. Mikado 03-01-2008, 12:53 AM No offense, just seemed an odd choice of wording to me. No problem, just a little misunderstanding, from the lack of context  tdf4077 03-02-2008, 11:21 PM No offense, just seemed an odd choice of wording to me. How about the JFK assassination? That shook the U.S. to its core, the entire world really. I don't think anything tore at the American psyche as much as that, and then 9/11. YES YES YES!!! DO THE ASSASSINATION!! I teach high school history, and kids always pick Pearl Harbor or something WWIIish or the Great Depression or the 1920's or Watergate... yet they never pick the JFK assassination, and that's just as important! Of course, they never pick it 'cause I'm pretty much a JFK assassination expert, so they'd be scared of messing something up. So, if you decide to do that one and want some help (or if you just want some help in general), email me at mashjaja@aol.com! And 9/11 is too recent Nighthawk76 03-06-2008, 11:47 PM We had to write a paper on a person already and I did JFK so I've already done the assassination. And 9/11 is too recent I think that Pearl Harbor would be a really good topic to write on. Infact, there are quite a few good topics set during World War II that you could write on. TripperFan 03-09-2008, 01:19 PM ummmmm how 'bout something old that happened in the past? :D |
